Disliked: Staff shortage at meal time,waited 1 hour for two burger and chips,the staff were booking people in and doing the bar and cooking meals and serving,that's what I call multi tasking

Liked: Good value for money. Good location for the Manvers Lake. I liked the pictures of miners on walls as showed a good link to local history. Staff were friendly. Fast check in. Great that free onsite parking.
Disliked: A bit tired in areas but I know they are currently going through an upgrade.

Almost a great hotel

Liked: Hotel didn’t have many guests so was very quiet. No noise in corridors, no queuing for the bar or breakfast. Staff weren’t overwhelmed by rude guests so they were happy and good to be around. Breakfast Monday to Friday started at 6:30 but you could go earlier and have cereals, fruit, drinks etc. I would arrive at 6:15 so I could still arrive at work on time. The breakfast was excellent each day.The room was spacious and very comfortable. The tv I could log into Prime, YouTube etc. The air conditioning was appreciated in this hot spell. The bed was superb I had a good sleep all week. The shower was great, instant hot water and plenty of of it, clean and lots of space.The Bar offers drinks cheaper than the Blue Bell pub next door and the food is about the same price.
Disliked: For anyone staying here for work, the breakfast starts at 7:30 on a weekend so for 2 days I had paid for breakfast but couldn’t have it. This is maybe enough for me to look elsewhere. I don’t think there was an option to not pay for breakfast on these 2 days.For the price the room should have a fridge, anyone staying for more than a night needs to keep things cool, especially during this heat wave, I could have bought food from the Lidl opposite the hotel to keep cool and have for my breakfast on the weekends and this would have been perfect.
