Dangerous, frightening and not up...

Liked: Breakfast was good although staying a little too long in the warming trays without replacement. Brenda was the person who managed our facility most frequently. She is incredibly good, personable and a wonderful employee.
Disliked: For starters, the elevator was very outdated and it was very difficult even getting the buttons to press on. Very slow and not very good. The housekeeping was decent except my shower curtain was ripped from day 1 and no one replaced it and the safe in the room did not work at all. I have a complaint about not having any towel bars in the sink area to hang a towel. I found that to be bad and there was no counter space to put toiletries. My biggest problem however was that the power went out on Saturday night May 17th after I had come back from a very exclusive formal wedding at 11:40. The hotel was dark except for around the front desk. I went to the elevator and it was cordoned off without anyone there to tell me why. There was no staff on site until a person from the front desk came around to tell me the power had gone out & it was expected to turn on again at 7:00 a.m. the next day. There was no way for me to get up to my 3rd floor room except to literally crawl up the steps in a dark stairwell that had no emergency lighting whatsoever. I was in a full length dress with train and 3-in heels and had to crawl up the steps to get to my room with no power & no way to see around me. There was no lighting whatsoever, no emergency lighting, no employees to help out and I had to sleep with no air conditioning. I could not get to my toiletries and it was nearly impossible to find the bathroom. They gave me a complimentary room for the one night only even though the power outage continued the next day and I was not compensated for that. I had another wedding event on Sun. and could not get ready.. I understand this was a local outage but it is inexcusable that a hotel should not have lighting in the emergency stairwells and no one in the hotel at all to escort us anywhere to other accommodations.The legality of this is uncertain to me and I will be consulting the attorneys I work with as to perhaps further compensation for what I endured!

Disappointing stay

Liked: The beds were comfortable.
Disliked: There were no umbrellas for the lounge chairs by the pool. Many of the lounge chairs were torn. The bathroom towels were threadbare, and the shower curtain was torn. Our room overlooked an ugly electric substation. Not the hotel‘s fault, but the power went out in the early evening and was still out by the time we left at 10 AM the next morning. So no lights, TV, ability to charge our phones, or breakfast in the morning. A backup generator would’ve been nice.
