Exceptional

A good choice for a...

Liked: We especially liked the location. The closest train station is within a 5 minutes walk. There are three grocery stores and a very nice park nearby. Our room was quiet and spacey.
Disliked: The breakfast service was slightly below the level we expected. The counter next to a coffee machine and several tables were not wiped well. There was not enough space, for example, next to the pot with scrambled eggs, to place a serving tray. The prices in the convenience store in the lobby were unreasonably high.

Liked: Trein is very close to the hotel, 6-7 stops to the centre, standart breakfast, clean.
Disliked: If you open window is a bit loudly, because of the street. Too busy in breakfast area.

Good outskirts location with tasty...

Liked: Well located near Hirschgarten station which allows you to easily access other parts of Munich. There is Hirschgarten itself just near the hotel which has a large beer garden and restaurant along with some resident deer. It is also near to a number of supermarkets and other restaurants should you need them.Breakfast is fairly basic but good and for the price of the hotel I am impressed with the offering. We prefer to stay here than in central Munich / the old town as it is less busy and cheaper, but if you are needing a more central location then this is not the hotel for you.Staff at reception always helpful and very friendly.
Disliked: Room facing main road is quite noisy if you open the windows

Liked: Great location with a good connection to the city center, modern and clean room, very food breakfast, convenient parking, local grocery shop etc.

Liked: I like the location, the room, comfort, and cleanliness.
Disliked: Maybe the only thing I'd point out here would be the breakfast. It could be a little bit better and aligned with Bayern, but other than that, I liked it.

A let down from a...

Liked: This was our 2nd visit to the hotel. It is convenient located. Check-in was efficient. Unfortunately there was no mention of the scaffolding outside our room window. The room itself was clean. But the wash basin was blocked, did not drain, was unhygienic and unusable. The issue was reported immediately to the front office. We were told that housekeeping would visit and clear the drain. But no one came. Neither on the day after. Only after complaining further was a new room eventually provided. Quite astonishing how a room with an un-operational sink and blocked drain can be assigned to guests. Very poor from a quality hotel. On the plus side, breakfast was superb, plentiful choice and very courteous staff.
Disliked: The blocked drain and unusable/unhygienic wash-basin, and the scaffolding outside the window. Quite the opposite experience from our 1st visit to the Holiday Inn Express Munich City West and positve experience 2 years ago.
