The Spotlight on Holiday Inn Express London Limehouse

Affordable Comfort Near London's Top Concert Venues

Modern and practical, the Holiday Inn Express London Limehouse offers a reliable stay in the heart of London’s Docklands. Just a 5-minute walk from Limehouse DLR Station, this 3-star hotel places you within easy reach of major music venues, including the O2 Arena and central London hotspots. With secure parking and a location outside the London Congestion Zone, it’s a smart pick for both locals and out-of-towners.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel hits all the right notes for gig lovers. Limehouse DLR Station is just around the corner, connecting you to major venues like the O2 Arena in under 15 minutes. The area stays relatively quiet post-show, so you’ll get a good night’s sleep after a loud night out. Check-in starts at 15:00, giving you time to settle in before heading out, and the 11:00 check-out lets you sleep in a little after a late night.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends heading out for a big show will love the easy access and shared room options. Solo travelers chasing dream concerts can count on safety and convenience. Couples can turn a gig into a weekend getaway, while fans needing a quiet wind-down will appreciate the peaceful vibe. It’s also a smart choice for budget-conscious music lovers who don’t want to compromise on comfort.

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no room service, the hotel offers a continental breakfast with fresh bread, croissants, fruit, and hot drinks — perfect after a long night. The lobby bar is a relaxed spot to kick off or wind down your evening. Plus, you’re within walking distance of local eateries and takeaways for a post-show bite.

Nightlife Options

Though the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, it’s a short ride to some of London’s best live venues and nightlife. Whether you're heading to an arena show or looking for a cozy pub with craft beers, Limehouse is well placed for both. The area is quieter than central London, giving you the option to go hard or chill out.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent transport links. Many reviewers appreciate the value for money and mention the hotel as a great base for attending concerts at the O2 or exploring East London. The secure parking is another plus for those driving in.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are clean but fairly basic — don’t expect boutique decor. Some guests mention limited hot breakfast options and minimal amenities in the immediate area, though central London is just a short ride away.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers looking for a clean, affordable, and well-connected base, the Holiday Inn Express London Limehouse hits all the right notes.

It served it’s purpose and...

Liked: Quiet and relatively close to my appointments
Disliked: The stupid doors that I bumped into or it opened on me (weird that is my main take away from staying there) wow.

Everything fine, close to underground...

Liked: Everything went well, lovely staff, breakfast is ok, could be always better. Room was very comfortable and spacious.
Disliked: Quality of breakfast could be better, there is no room service.

Poor

Liked: It’s clean
Disliked: The breakfast buffet is unacceptable: food runs out quickly, and when they do bring more, it’s in very small amounts. You constantly have to ask for basic items. Worse, when I politely asked for cucumbers, a worker in the kitchen started shouting at me. She told me, “This is a 3-star hotel, if you don’t like our service, you can leave.” This behavior is completely unprofessional and shocking.

Great option for short stay

Liked: Location was perfect: not too central, so you don't face the London chaos, and not too far, multiple public transports got you into the city quite fast. Staff was very nice and friendly, and the hotel itself was very well taken care of. The room was spacious, with a very nice TV and sufficient soundproofing to the outside. Breakfast was great.
Disliked: The breakfast service was a bit slow, with items running out pretty often and taking staff some time to replenish the stock.

We came away hungry and...

Liked: Location very good for where we needed to be - Room could have done with a small fridge as weather was lovely and hot
Disliked: BREAKFAST WAS A SHOCKER. We paid for 2 nights and didn't have one breakfast - we went down to breakfast at least an hour before the finish time and there was nothing hot to eat - We would have been lucky to get a serviette and a fork let alone a breakfast. Toast but no butter, juice and hot drinks but no glasses or cups - We complained at both reception and limited staff in restaurant that we could find, but, a simple shrug of the shoulders and a small sorry was all they could muster, no action was taken to rectify anything while we were there and many other travellers were voicing a similar opinion. A REFUND SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFFERED IN OUR OPINION.

Good

Liked: Hotel's location is very good in close vicinity to the bus stop and metro station. Nice and quiet room, nothwithstanding with the fact that hotel was built in front of the busy road. Enought of USB ports and power sockets.
Disliked: Absence of the safety box, bath robe and slippers. Breakfast is very poor and if you come after 9 AM, you won't get anything.

Caotic & not enjoyable

Liked: It’s central location for a concert visit to the London Stadium.
Disliked: The experience of the staff & its customer service. The vast majority of the rooms were not ready on check-in. We didn’t get our rooms till nearly 4pm , which gave us very little time to freshen up & change before heading out to the concert. The bar in the hotel ran out of Lager & Cider at the pumps at 2pm on a Saturday. They couldn’t pour a pint either , it had more froth than drink.
