The Spotlight on Holiday Inn Express London Greenwich

Modern Comfort Just Minutes from the Music

Modern, budget-friendly, and perfectly located for gig nights, the Holiday Inn Express London Greenwich offers easy access to the O2 Arena and North Greenwich tube station—only a 15-minute walk away. Set on the Greenwich Peninsula and outside the Congestion Charge Zone, this hotel is a smart choice for fans looking to stay close to the action without breaking the bank. Rooms are clean, bright, and air-conditioned, with free Wi-Fi and a handy movable desk for planning your next musical adventure.

Why Concert-goers love it

The location is a major win—walk to the O2 Arena in under 20 minutes and skip the late-night taxi scramble. Despite being near the action, the hotel sits in a relatively quiet area, offering a peaceful place to crash after the encore. With check-in from 15:00 and check-out at 11:00, there’s enough flexibility to suit most gig schedules. Public transport is a breeze with North Greenwich tube nearby, plus on-site parking is available for those driving in.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends heading to a concert together
- Solo travelers ticking off a bucket-list artist
- Couples looking to pair a show with a weekend getaway
- Fans who prefer a more relaxed post-show retreat
- Budget-conscious music lovers needing a clean, comfortable base

Food and Drink Options

Fuel up post-show with evening options like pizzas and light meals served in the hotel’s Great Room. An inclusive breakfast buffet is available each morning, with fresh pastries and selected hot items—perfect for a late start after a big night. While there isn’t 24/7 room service, the walkable area around Greenwich offers several food options for late-night cravings.

Nightlife Options

You’re already steps from London's biggest arena, but if you're in the mood to keep the night going, nearby bars and pubs around Greenwich and the O2 offer everything from rooftop cocktails to riverside pints. Back at the hotel, unwind in the relaxed lounge area with a drink before calling it a night.

What People Say

Guests love the easy walk to the O2 Arena and the clean, modern rooms. Many highlight the value for money and praise the friendly, helpful staff. The free Wi-Fi and included breakfast also earn consistent thumbs-up, especially for those recovering from a late night out.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel doesn’t offer a full-service restaurant, and the dinner menu is limited. Some guests note that rooms facing the car park can lack a view—but for most concert-goers, it’s all about the location, not the scenery.

The Bottom Line

A solid, well-located choice for concert-goers who want comfort, convenience, and value just a short walk from the O2 Arena.

Stella K, Wicklow Wed, 22 May 2024

The room was clean and the beds comfortable, and the staff very friendly. I usually have fruit and yogurt - would have liked to have had fresh fruit for the breakfast. The frozen bowl of fruit was still frozen in part. I feel the price is a little expensive in comparison to the nearby 5 star hotel which is a much more luxurious experience, with the use of a spa swimming pool. Thank you.

Disliked: The rooms were very warm at night but the air conditioning was too loud to leave on, and it was too noisy to leave the window open.

Very friendly staff. Room was very clean; air con was not working - we were informed of this and told a fan was in the room. Spotlights out in bathroom, making it quite dark. Also a spot light out on the room. Beds very comfy. Had to use stairs to get to 5th floor on several occasions as lifts would not work. Luckily we were able to do this, other guests may struggle.

Liked: Breakfast was included; staff very friendly.
Disliked: Spotlights out around the room; air con not working; lifts intermittently working.

Hazel J, Newcastle upon Tyne, visiting Indigo at the O2 Tue, 27 June 2023

We were so tired by the time we got to the hotel, the receptionist could clearly see I was a wheelchair user, yet I paid for a room that had no toilet facilities for a wheelchair. Once confronted I was given a disabled room that suited my needs. So it worked out in the end.

Liked: There was a problem with facilities to bathroom. I was given another room with wheelchair access.
Disliked: Couldn't believe they initially gave me a room with toilet inaccessible for a wheelchair user.

Passable

Liked: The closeness to the O2 is good
Disliked: The breakfast was awful, orange juice that was clearly very watered down orange squash. Hash browns that were either stale or cooked from frozen and left to go cold as they were cold and rubbery and spicy sausages that gave me an upset stomach afterwards. The hot chocolate and coffee were also very watery.

Pleasant

Liked: Good location for o2
Disliked: Breakfast was shocking, not enough seats for everyone and ran out of mainly everything at 9am. Should be more prepared if they know an artist is playing the 02. Shower head was broken and water only came out of 4 holes

Good stay

Liked: Breakfast was lovely, really tasty and the bed was very comfy
Disliked: Staff weren't overly friendly, didn't really make any conversation. The curtains in room 519 could do with replacing as they have rips in them which let light in

Very good

Liked: The location of the hotel to the O2 was excellent, the breakfast was delicious but could of been better maintained for how many guests there were I felt as though everyone was on top of each other
Disliked: The pull out bed was extremely uncomfortable and woke up with a bad back, I feel as though a bed would of been more appropriate, I'm also not happy with the price I paid for one night which was £200, when I checked the day before the same room had been reduced ro £167 but no option to take that price

Poor - 1.5 out of 5

Ashlea Wed, 7 May 2025

Terrible .

Liked: Late checkOut.
Disliked: Greenwich- put into a joining room which we were up all night hearing baby cry and the couple generally talking. Awful. People at 2:30am screaming and laughing in the communal hallway. Breakfast food was awful. Sausages tasted horrible and wasn’t a plain sausage meat. I’ve been here before and the food was fine but this time I couldn’t even eat it
