Holiday Inn Express Lille Centre

Perfect central hotel in wonderful...

Liked: We came to visit friends that live in Lille. My husband is disabled uses a wheelchair the hotel was clean and very accessible.Our room was spacious and quiet.It was excellent value.The staff were welcoming and very happy to help.They supported me with booking taxis and questions about the area nothing was too much trouble.My French is not good there English was excellent.Breakfast was well run. Food was plentiful.The location is in a good position in Lille. Everything is close by my husband even got a haircut.
Disliked: There was nothing I didn't like.

Liked: The location is good for the bars, the breakfast is good, the room was spotlessly clean and the air-conditioning worked well.
Disliked: There are a lot of beggars around the hotel and they sleep in the doorways next to the hotel. The beggars are violent and tried to attack my partner over not giving them her cigarettes. She reported this to the reception staff but they said there was nothing they would do and the local police are not interested and allow this to take place.

Not the best

Liked: The entrance to the hotel smelt nice and clean unlike the bedroom. Staff were pleasant.
Disliked: The car park entrance is very narrow as the paint marks down the sides of the walls will testify. The bedroom had a very unpleasant smell, when we showered the plughole was so blocked that the water left the bathroom and wet the carpet. This may explain the smell. You definitely get what you pay for in relation to room size and decor.

Liked: Very helpful staff; excellent choice at breakfast. Room comfortable, but bed rather too firm and one side had been sat on causing it to dip on that side. Would have liked to have had a few more English language channels on TV.
