Liked: Close to the venue. Clean room and a kick ass 24 hour taco shop right next door.

Hotel desk employee was very nice but that's about it. Would love a makeover on this one. Not worth the $$$.

Disliked: Would not stay there again. The bar was ridiculous - bar tender did not want to be there. No selection - said they were doing inventory.

Quiet hotel near the highway...

Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking at all times of the day. Room and bathroom looked updated. For my purposes the location was excellent. I would stay there again.
Disliked: The next update needs to be the carpets throughout the hotel. They were old and dirty and it was the only thing I would give a less than "Excellent" score.

Liked: The breakfast was decent.
Disliked: The booking.com website clearly advertises, that this location (Holiday Inn La Mesa), would have a bathtub or shower option available for the room I booked. Upon arrival, I was told that that wasn't the case. Only ADA rooms had bathtubs and none were available. My son had a 7on7 Football Tournament at San Diego St. and we wanted a bathtub so he could soak in Epson salt after a long day of football.Also, we complained about the neighboring room that had dogs barking all day and night of our stay. When we asked to get a joining room with my father in law to get away from the barking dogs next door, they said that there was no availability as well. Overall the stay was unpleasant and I do not plan on staying there again or using Booking.com as the property blamed you guys for the misinformation from being a 3rd party.

Disliked: So this hotel is not what I expected from the reviews . First I reserved a 2 -2 queen bed rooms . When we got to the property . We had to pay for parking and it was 35 . The parking lot does not look safe I actually wish I could park somewhere else but there’s only an alley. They couldn’t give us joining rooms so we wer across the hall . I also reserved this room becuz it says shower or bath tub . They said they didn’t get the request for a tub thru booking and they have bath tubs only in the hearing accessible rooms . It clearly says bath tubs or shower . Next they put us next to a room with little dogs . I asked about the dogs and the noise for both my rooms to be changed but they could only change one . To another floor . How could I split my family up even more . The front desk argued with me and said the only thing they can do was have the manager talk to me in the morning . I’m here for 1 night . So not helpful at all . Last time I book thru booking.com since everything I question or ask for is we can’t help you with that since you booked thru a 3rd party . Also never staying here again . I should get a refund since nothing was what I expected it to be . And there’s constant barking from little dogs next door . Pretty disappointing when you just want to rest . Also the pool looks like it’s in a jail . Maybe becuz it’s along an alley behind a 7 eleven and mini shops

My 4 days in San...

Liked: Didn't even get to stay there.$55 a night cleaning deposit per night plus $20 parking per day.I couldn't afford it on top of the $555.I already paid for the room through booking dot com
Disliked: Hidden fees my I got robbed by booking dot com and holiday inn and I will tell anybody who will listen not to stay there or to go with booking dot com
