Okay
Liked: The room was big. 2 big beds with a sofabed. All quite comfortable. The breakfast was incredible, A+.The hotel isn't very far from the downtown, but again Kingston isn't a very big city neither.A fitness room with all the basic equipment for your stay. Does the job!The pool+hot tub were nice and clean.
Disliked: Staff couldn't find my reservation at first. They kept trying with a combination of my first name and last name. Took them about 5 min while my friend took 1-2 min. This got me very stressed as I thought I booked the wrong hotel. This also hinted that staff isn't accustomed to bookings from Booking. Maybe it was a one off, but I didn't like it.They took my credit card behind the counter to enter its numbers instead of me paying through the little credit card machine. While I do have a decent amount of trust, I have no idea where she noted my numbers and this is so out of date! For all I know, the person could have malicious intentions and had written my numbers on a personal document. I've been to several hotels (including other Holiday Inn) they make you tap/pay. You kind of pay the room+an authorization or hold on a fixed amount in case it's needed.Parking is not free! First time seeing that too. It was not expensive at all - $6. But I felt it was a cheap move considering the price of the room - $280 for 1 night! The parking is really huge but still had a very hard time finding a spot at 10:30 pm and on staff advice I had to park on a "non-parking" spot. Got me a bit worried that I'd be ticketed. The room could use a bit of decoration. It's cold and impersonal. Maybe a rug here or there, a vase, a table, etc. Also, not possible to have an extra bed sheet, as per the Hotel description :/The TV system is out of date. Basically, can only watch channels. No access to streaming services (YT, Netflix, Prime or Disney where you'd still need your own account), not even casting/mirroring from your phone. The TV image quality was very good. The itself looked pretty new but the OS and layer the hotel added was off by maybe a few years.
