Liked: Liked: The pool, although clearly dated, and hot tub;The breakfast was good and the lady making the breakfasts and maintaining the area was lovely;The restaurant next door had good food, but slow service.
Disliked: Reception staff were not that pleasant, and seemed be barely listening half the time.The rooms are old and tired. Floors squeak, you can literally hear your neighbour’s conversations, the train runs by so close you can feel it as well as hear it, the carpets all need ripping up because they were loose (should probably be considered a hazard), shower temperature and pressure was hit and miss, tv had about 5 channels, and the room I stayed in was close to the elevator so I had that dinging every 10 minutes (even if it didn’t stop on that floor, it made a sound going past it).I was charged the normal $100 deposit, plus a $250 deposit because, apparently, the first payment wasn’t credit and allegedly declined. I explained to the member of staff that I had the same issue when I stayed in Victoria and I just needed to insert the card (I had forgotten and done contactless out of habit) but she refused this explanation and said my card was debit so I needed to pay the $250 which I did, only to see later that both transactions had gone through. When I told staff this they weren’t bothered and said that it would take 7-10 working days for the money to be returned - not great given that it was a bank holiday!The shuttle took about half an hour to arrive despite being told 15 minutes and, when I called to request it, she told me to call back when I was at gate 9 because being 30 seconds away and able to see it and having all my luggage already apparently wasn’t good enough! (I kept her talking and then said I was there so I didn’t have to call back). It’s a good location for the airport with the shuttle service but not really for anything else, you can’t walk around the area or anything, I had to get an uber just to go 5 minutes down the road to a shop!So, unless you’re a really deep sleeper who just wants to crash for a few hours nap before a flight, I really wouldn’t recommend staying here.
