Liked: Clean friendly and well positioned to the interstate and convenient to food and Walmart is next door in case you need something. I stayed here for a trade show in Detroit. I felt safe while in Chesterfield a big plus while visiting Detroit. I love that there are Keurig coffee makers in the room I pack my favorite coffee and creamer and that makes the morning a bit more like home. Though I wish the Keurig was a larger model. But I wouldn't call that a complaint, more a wish list item. Keurig in my room is why I stay at HIE. It is that big of a deal to me.
Disliked: This stay was good. I would recommend this HIE. My only complaint was the mattress. It was clean and made well. Not a staff complaint, but it was god awful hard. I recently stayed at HIE outside of Pittsburg and the Mattress was like a cloud, so nice I went home and looked into buying one. It was a beauty rest plush BTW. But the mattress here was like cardboard. Just horrible. Sleep quality is the most important element of a hotel. If they could fix that I would have rated, it as excellent. But I feel management chose cost over quality when they approved this mattress purchase. They literally bought the cheapest mattress they could find. I would recommend they all have to sleep on this rock of a bed for 3 nights and see how their back feels in the morning.
