Poor
Liked: They have good breakfast.
Disliked: The parking lot Is too small and they have to get rid of some trees which messed up cars with the tree wax. I have been struggling for an hour and half to take off the tree wax from my rental car because I was parking under one of those trees.

Functional budget hotel
Liked: Location was convenient for my purposes. Hotel was suitable for the one night stopover I needed, would not want to do a longer leisure stay there. Price is lower than the properties in Farmington or closer to Hartford, it was not a bad value for what it is. It was serviceable; the hvac worked, bed was ok, bathroom was functional, a good amount of space, no weird smell in the room, quiet hours, charging stations and lamps for each bedside. The bedroom area seemed relatively in good shape and clean. On the real plus side, it did not seem to have some of the issues other hotels in the greater area have with after midnight partying or lack of maintenance in key areas (looking at you, homewood suites farmington). Probably one of the better options in the area for the price point.
Disliked: Bathroom was a long in the tooth and needs a remodel, the shower head was pulled out of the wall a bit and the fixtures were run down. Not one of the better holiday inn branded properties. Door also did not automatically hard close, which doesn't seem fully up to code fire safety-wise for where I am from but maybe CT has laxer laws on that then surrounding states. It was advertised as a non-smoking property but the staff making a gross cloud of smoke in front of the doors kind of misses the point, would be great if they could go around the corner or keep it away from the main entry for guests. Or ban smoking from within 50 ft of the entry like a lot of buildings do. Not a true black out shade even with the double layer in the window, it still let in too much light from parking lot.
