Exceptional

Breakfast was good, shame about...

Liked: Breakfast was nice. The lady overseeing the breakfast was very nice and took the initiative to try to help my dad - who has dementia. Scrambled egg was very good and there was a fair amount of choice. Room was situated on ground floor as requested which was great as my dad has mobility issues. Could park car for free just outside hotel reception and could see car from my room which was reassuring.
Disliked: The sofa bed in my room wasn’t made up. I had to get duvet and sheets from reception and make it up myself. The sofa bed was filthy - dust and other stuff all over the frame underneath, looked like it had not been cleaned in years. Sofa bed was actually terribly uncomfortable - it felt like there was a plank of hard wood underneath my legs. It was the most uncomfortable sofa bed I have ever encountered. Toilet seat was broken so was easy to sit on - it went off to one side. The shower was VERY sensitive - you only had to turn the temperature gauge round a tiny, tiny bit and the temperature would completely change. It was either extremely hot or getting cold. Nightmare.

Liked: Very nice friendly and comfortable and breakfast was just right first time in a holiday inn express and will use them again
Disliked: Nothing it is a good location pity Glenrothes has gone down hill

Very good and the staff...

Liked: Location was great, breakfast was good and the hotel was very clean and seems to be well maintained.
Disliked: The beds are all on castors and so when you try to sit up with your back against the wall, the beds move.

Clean, comfortable and will recommend...

Liked: We booked in for 2nights but a death in the family we were visiting required me to stay for a further night. At first the hotel staff told me there was no room available, but said to check later to see if there had been any cancellations. Shortly afterwards, Libby, one of the duty managers, said that she and her line manager had been able to juggle the other bookings, and were able to provide the room for me. They and the night manager were very kind and sympathetic as I had just lost my daughter-in-law. Special mention to Libby, for her care and thoughtfulness.
