Well-intentioned staff; good facilities; good...

Liked: The staff worked hard to overcome an air-conditioning fault and to recompense us for the inconvenience of having to move to a not particularly well-cleaned room. Otherwise the facilities were good and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was good.
Disliked: The non-functioning air-conditioner in our original room meant we had to move to another room, which had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke, and needed a deep clean. To the staff's credit, they provided drinks vouchers and IHG credit points as recompense, and did their best. The location is at the bottom of a steep hill climb into the city centre, not ideal for anyone unfit.
