Neutral about the stay

Liked: I've liked the place and the room was overall nice,clean and comfortable
Disliked: Be aware guest parking is chargeable and is not cheap, we have stayed in the hotel in the hottest day in UK and the AC wasn't working at all.

No Air-conditioning on the Hottest...

Liked: Nice helpful staff at reception and in the bar.
Disliked: On the hottest day of the year, my room was 24C when I checked in. I turned the Air conditioning to the lowest temp and highest fan setting and the temp in my room went up to 26.5C. And stayed there. I phoned reception and explained. They said it sometimes takes time to cool off. But that they'd flip the circuit breaker and reset the air con. Which they did and said it should be cool when I return. When I came back 6 hours later the roo. Was still 26.5C and felt even hotter. The windows only opened about an inch and didn't alleviate the heat. As a result I couldn't sleep and lay on top of the bed sweating all night. Not a peasant experience and I really feel like I should be compensated for this this poor experience.

Liked: The staff were excellent, shower was great, good towels.
Disliked: No air con ( on one of the hottest days of the year) broken hairdryer ( dangerously) flickering light, small double bed. No hot vegetarian options for breakfast. Only scrambled eggs and toast and only full fat milk. . Not overly clean in dining area. Can’t get food during the day even light snacks.

Pleasant for a one night...

Liked: Breakfast was buffet style and had plenty of options. Would have been nice if the air conditioning was working in the rooms but unfortunately it wasn't in any of he rooms but the staff did provide fans.

Liked: Breakfast was good
Disliked: Having to pay £16 for parking. And the AC not work all weekend in a 33 degree weather

Great little stayover

Liked: Staff were professional and very polite and helpful Room was comfy,clean and quietBreakfast was lovely, fresh and hot
Disliked: Nothing! Everything was fine

Mixed Feelings

Liked: Very comfortable bed, large room.The shower was very good, plenty of hot water, and a hand rail for those of us that need them.
Disliked: I'm partially sighted and the breakfast room had no clear paths to follow, chairs in the way.At 9.15 am whilst the hot servings were replenished, the yogurt and fruits were practically empty and I had to serve myself on a dinner plate(no bowls).I had to have coffee in a glass (no mugs) which was difficult and messy.This breakfast room is the most disappointing I have experienced in Hol Inn Express, the best being Gibralter.
