Liked: Hotel location was excellent, within walking distance of the Brisbane CBD. There's both a 7/11 and a Woolworths within a 5-minute walk of the hotel for when you want to pick up snacks.Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, room was a good size and the floor-to-ceiling window gave excellent views of the city. Shower was a good size and had all the amenities you're ever likely to need while travelling. Housekeeping service times were very consistent from day-to-day, making it easy to plan around when my room was likely to be cleaned. The room was clean and well-maintained.The bed was a little too soft for my personal preference but was still comfy enough. You get two pillows, one soft and one firm depending on what you prefer, which I thought was a really nice touch.The hotel gym is fairly barebones but has a few cardio machines, a bench and an assortment of dumbbells of weights ranging from 4 to 14kg. I don't consider myself to be particularly strong by any means but some heavier weights would have been a nice bonus. As it was, the gym is still perfectly adequate for getting a decent workout in while travelling but don't expect anything special.
Disliked: The breakfast buffet is serviceable but has fairly limited options beyond the usual fare: toast, croissants, eggs, bacon etc. I think vegan travelers will have a hard time putting together a substantial breakfast with the food items available. It's also quite boring to have the same thing morning after morning.The hotel has laundry facilities but I can't recommend using them. The front desk can provide the change and detergent needed to operate the dryer, which is nice and convenient. However, the dryer damaged some of my friend's clothes and destroyed one of my shirts. Clothing has a tendency to get stuck between the door and the tumbler of the dryers in this hotel and consequently get torn. My shirt came out of the dryer with massive holes ripped in it and I ended up throwing it away. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle of complaining at the time but I was still frustrated by the experience.
