Liked: The breakfast was very good. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.
Disliked: One of the elevators was out of order, causing a long wait at breakfast time.

Fab stay in Berlin

Liked: Great location! Opposite underground station and 10 mins walk from river restaurants / bars, 15 mins walk to Alexanderplatz and museums. Comfortable hotel room, cleaning excellent, breakfast range of very good, staff were great.

Disliked: On the first day, there is a very bad sewage smell in the lobby (not in the rooms). After the first day, they managed to fix it.We stayed for 4 days and unfortunately one of the two elevators was broken. It caused long waits to reach our room/lobby.I can say there was adequate breakfast, but maybe they could add a couple of more choices for make it more harmonic. ( such as waffle/pancake maker…) +add the allergy/preference icons such as diary/peanuts/pork… each time you have to ask.

Disappointing Experience – Poor Service...

Disliked: We stayed at Holiday Inn Express Berlin Alexanderplatz from July 19 to 23, and unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing.Our room was cleaned only once during our entire stay likely on July 20 or 21. After that, no housekeeping service was provided, despite our extended stay. I initially saw a middle-aged Asian man cleaning the rooms, but in the following days, different people entered our floor, and I couldn’t verify if they were official staff. This inconsistency in housekeeping raised serious concerns about security.Even more alarming, after returning to our home country, we discovered that a portion of our money had gone missing. We strongly suspect it happened during our time at the hotel, but since we had already left Berlin, we couldn’t report it in person. The lack of proper control over who accesses guest rooms is extremely worrying.Beyond the security issue, the overall service quality was very poor. There were no complimentary water bottles in the room. When I asked about safe drinking water for my pregnant wife, I was told to drink from the tap. Upon requesting information about pH levels or internal water testing reports, they said they couldn't provide any. Instead, they suggested I buy bottled water from the lobby for 3 euros which I found unacceptable for an Holiday inn hotel.There were no slippers, no minibar, and the room itself was extremely small barely enough space to open a suitcase. The bed was also small and uncomfortable.Most frustrating of all, the front desk staff especially the night receptionist were incredibly dismissive, rude, and unwilling to help with even the simplest requests. Their attitude made the entire stay feel unpleasant and unwelcoming.Overall, this hotel fails to meet even the most basic expectations of hospitality. I would not recommend it to anyone and will definitely not return.
