Hotel seems nice, but staff...

Liked: I thought the cleanliness of the common areas was very nice.
Disliked: Our room (106) was right next to a door that exited to the parking lot. The door slammed shut constantly with people going in and out of the hotel at all hours, and the bed was against the wall with that exterior door. This meant the wall/bed shook every time the door slammed, multiple times an hour. I was pretty sick and in town for a job interview, so I really needed a good night’s sleep.At 12:30am, I finally gave up and out to the front desk and told the staff about it (we could hear the door slamming from the lobby). I said I knew he couldn’t magically fix the door in the middle of the night, but it would be great if he would please at least put a sign on the door asking people to close it gently. His response was “the last person just checked in, so it should be quiet now.” That was incorrect, as the door kept slamming throughout the night. He did not put up a sign.The next morning, I asked to speak to the manager to have my night comped. The person at the front desk (Manny, I believe) said he could comp me $40, but I felt that wasn’t enough given the fact that I couldn’t sleep at all because of a problem with the facility. The manager (Jenna) wasn’t there, but he said he would have her call me. Two weeks passed without hearing from her, so I called back to speak with her. I told her everything that happened, and her responses were 1) Manny was new, which was why she didn’t call me back (makes no sense) 2) she couldn’t comp or refund anything because I booked using booking.com, and 3) she would give me a 2k point credit in my IHG account instead. That conversation was three weeks ago, and she still hasn’t comped me those points. She did not seem concerned at all about the facility issue, which means it will affect other guests, too. Just overall a pretty horrible experience with unnecessary staff failures at every level. Guess I should’ve taken that $40 from Manny.

Disliked: Location strange behind shopping plaza. Gated entry made me feel unsafe… why was it needed? Bed very uncomfortable.

Liked: It was clean and looks new even though it was 6 years old. It’s out of the way a little which kept it quiet. The breakfast was good too.
Disliked: They didn’t have or offer any water bottles.
