Holiday Inn Coventry

Had a lovely 2 night stay in Coventry - couldn't fault the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very pleasant experience.

Liked: Fabulous hotel.
Disliked: None.

Liked: everything went well, enjoyed the food that i ordered, overall felt safe nice environment and found that the staff were very friendly. only spent one night and was out most of the day, but it would be somewhere where would go back to

Disliked: Waited 15 minutes at restaurant as we had booked a table for dinner at 8.30 pm as was staying for my partner birthday , whole restaurant was set up for breakfast in the end a guest came and advised us to go to bar and ask . Which we did and it seemed we was in inconvenience . Next morning dor breakfast the lady at desk said I wasnt in her sheet I explained I should be breakfast Is included , she rang reception then proceeded to tell me whilst on phone there was no booking in my name or room number , she then proceeded to tell me that my room was not 365 as they only had rooms go up to 364 , I felt very uncomfortable and like I was lying , she then carried on speaking to reception on phone and they said oh I did have booking but was checked out. It was 7.30am and I hadn't checked out . Was really upset and disappointed .

Style over substance!

Liked: The bacon, mushrooms & tomatoes at breakfast were really nice. There's nothing more I can unfortunately
Disliked: I slipped in the bath/shower and badly bruised my leg.Having limited mobility, the bathtub was too high for me for 1 and the other thing was, once the bottom of the bath got wet it became very very slippy and I felt really unsafe, a non slip mat would've made it better in my opinion. There was also no extractor fan in the bathroom to take the steam away, once it got warm in there it became too hot.The breakfast wasn't the greatest, I would've preferred hash browns instead of those potato slices as they tasted funky (I also felt quite poorly afterwards up until early afternoon) the tea and coffee facilities was lacking, 3 sticks of coffee, 2 teabags, 2 white sugar 2 brown sugar and only 2 sticks of milk, I had both sticks of milk and both sugars in my coffee, leaving no milk and no sugar for my mum to have a hot drink or for myself to have another one (I shouldn't have to call down to have more sent to the room) the air-conditioning was lacking too and very noisy! We've stayed in other Holiday Inns before and never had a bad word to say up until now which is such a shame!

Liked: Rooms clean and everything worked. Kettle (although just 2 tea bags, 2 tubes if milk and 3 instant coffee tubes), iron + board and hairdryer in the room.Breakfast offered quite a good range.Staff very good - cheerful and helpful.
Disliked: Noisy aircon fan and the temperature setting didn't seem to make much difference. Turned it off (28°C outside) then got too hot so turned it on again and suffered the incessant ticking noise.No fresh fruit available for breakfast - just bananas and mixed fruit (from frozen) compote.

Disliked: Couldn't take my meds as there was no fridge, so wasn't a good weekend as I felt queasy!!
