Good hotel to stay when visiting Boone, NC.

Liked: Cleanliness and location.
Disliked: Wish it had free breakfast.

Disgusting Pool, Bad Breakfast, &...

Liked: Good location and there was one good staff member (her name was Samantha, I think)
Disliked: The pool was absolutely disgusting and should be condemned. The water was a mirky brown, the walls were squishy and covered in black mold, and there was not a bit of chlorine pool smell in the air--which made sense if you saw the pool water. The breakfast was burnt and undercooked at the same time and we waited almost 2 hours for it, throwing off our morning plans. We stayed two nights and opted to go out for breakfast on the second day as not to spend our whole morning waiting for food again. So the free breakfast wasn't worth it unless you're okay with bad food and waiting a long time for it. Lastly, anytime we needed something from staff there were long lines to wait in because only one person would be manning everything, or there was nobody to be seen and you had to wait till somebody popped up at the front desk 15-20 minutes after walking up. When we went to address these concerns with the hotel staff we had to sift through a tray of business cards where the owner hides his at the back as to avoid angry guests contacting him, which tells me he's aware of all these common issues and has no interest in making changes. We will definitely not be staying here again and would recommend looking elsewhere.

Liked: Staff was very friendly, helpful and patient. Breakfast was very good. Server was great. Samantha at the front desk exceeded the expectations of hospitality by making me feel so comfortable. The weather was bad and I had to hang around about 30 minutes in the lobby after checkout.
Disliked: Have stayed here before and had a good experience then.
