Liked: The hotel facilities were very nice.
Disliked: They still haven’t released my credit card authorisation from check in. This should be done in a more timely manner given it’s a mandatory condition to check in especially when the room was pre-paid. I also booked a Twin room but was given a double bed, they did provide a put up bed when I queried this but this wasn’t suitable for an adult to sleep on. It certainly wasn’t clear on booking when it says “double or twin” and you then select twin that you’re not in fact guaranteed to get what you book so be aware of this when booking as it made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep!

Liked: Beautiful setting. Very clean. Staff cheerful and pleasant. Bed large and comfortable. Food good.
Disliked: Pillows were plentiful but hard and flat. Very limited drawer space in room and only 1 chair.

Liked: The building is breathtakingly pretty and the grounds are stunning. We absolutely loved our room - It was modern and well equipped and tastefully decorated with plenty of amenities - perfect for our short, two night stay.

Great Service, Would Highly Recommend...

Liked: An excellent breakfast was included in our price for two nights and was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The "Superior Double Room" was very spacious, with a desk, sitting area, ensuite bathroom with shower and the huge bed was extremely comfortable. The room was well appointed and water/tea/coffee/milk supplies renewed every day. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly, helpful and polite.We ate in the bar area on both evenings and the food and service was excellent. The extensive grounds were safe to walk around in the evenings and parts went back to Doomsday Book Times - 1086.On both evenings Weddings were being celebrated in the separate Function rooms/building and were far enough away not to disturb us. Indeed on the Saturday night we were treated to an elaborate Fireworks display organised by the Wedding Party.If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay here again.
