We did enjoy our short...
Liked: The breakfast was very well done, fresh with good choice although a coffee machine would be appreciated. The location is great within walking distance of the waterfront and good coffee shops. The communal area on the ground floor, including the outdoor space, was really useful and pleasant as was the drinks station (lovely hot chocolate) on tap!
Disliked: The building is charming but beginning to show it's age. It had a bit of a funny smell coming through the door and the reception desk is oddly placed, more like an office desk? Given its height I had expected an elevator especially as our room was at the very top! We both have hip&knee issues. Our room was an attic room and rather felt like one with no soft seating or space to sit. The small windows and poor curtains made it feel more so. The receptionist did help with our bags but I had to avoid going up &down.

An Amazing Hotel - Highly...
Liked: The ambience of the hotel was amazing! It felt like we went back in time to 1871 when the building was constructed. It is charming, cozy and definitely has its own character. The bed was super comfortable and clean. The slanted ceiling and the antique writing desk added a lovely Victorian-style touch to the room's decor. Our window was facing the garden and it was very quiet although we kept the window ajar. The bathroom was spacious and the water ran well and had a good temperature. The breakfast was very good, both variety and taste-wise. There was also water, coffee, tea and light snacks available in the lobby all the time. The sitting room had a fire place and very comfortable sofas and arm-chairs. A fabulous quaint inn!
Disliked: The mirror on the wall in the room was hung very low - not sure if it was done with a purpose but I had to bend really low in order to look in the mirror, otherwise I could only see up to my shoulders. The tap in the bathroom was a bit difficult to adjust at opening because it was one of the push-and-pull types, so we had to fiddle with it for a few seconds to set the right water pressure and temperature. But these are very minor inconveniences compared to how lovely our overall stay was!
