Provided the necessities whilst travelling...

Liked: Good location, near everythingHad all the essentials for a cheap priceFree overnight street parking across YHA
Disliked: Could do with some upgrades and repairs (especially the kitchen and bathrooms), some bathroom floors are super wet after multiple people have used them. Laundry had some broken machines only one washer was working. Kitchen is very very small for the amount of people, broken drawers, no freezer. Could use some storage upgrades, lots of wasted space. Bed mattresses were worn out, you sink into the mattress which forces you to stay in that position all night. Day parking near YHA is very expensive in the CBD sadly.

Superb

Liked: Super team. Very good location (harbor 5 min walk, sky bus stop 3 min walk, Woolworth 4 min walk, cafes 4 min walk). Large kitchen. Many restrooms.
Disliked: A lot of loud traffic noise from the street throughout the night. Sometimes it seems that someone is parking his superbike just near your bed. .You have to get used to sleep near the road.

Disappointing

Liked: Really central to Hobart.
Disliked: Booked for a 10 bed mixed dorm but got changed to an 8 male mixed dorm without being notified. When I checked in I let staff know that I never requested that change and that while I am aware my name is mixed, I always ensure to mention my title (Miss) to avoid this kind of situation, and would like to be put back into a the original mixed dorm. Receptionist let me know I should be grateful for the update and that it’s not their fault my name is mixed. She changed me to an appropriate dorm but acted as if it was a big inconvenience. Also why let people book dorms that are next to construction work during the slow season? Bathrooms were dirty no matter the time of the day and it didn’t look like they were getting cleaned everyday. No bath mats which is an injury hazard.

A very well priced option...

Liked: Great location. Good facilities. Very friendly staff. Quiet room. Well equipped kitchen. Left luggage facility.
Disliked: Second floor room but no lift access. Close to the hospital so helicopter noise some nights.
