A run down place for...

Liked: The place was run down and has seen better days. Don’t be fooled by the photos. The place unfortunately lacked care. Don’t choose croissant for breakfast - two tiny ones from the supermarket heated up.
Disliked: The yard and driveway were woefully maintained. Looked like a dump.

A charming Inn that’s good...

Liked: I struggled to find any accommodation in New Orleans as it was completely sold out due to the Super Bowl game. Therefore I was grateful to find somewhere that was not ripping me off at stupid prices like the other hotels in the area. I loved the unique feel of the venue, as it was like staying in a family home and not like a hotel. The host - David - was charming and I enjoyed our in-depth conversation about global travel. The accommodation was very comfortable and I slept very well. The coffee machine outside my bedroom door on the landing and shared by other residents was very convenient and good coffee. The breakfast was delicious with a croissant proving a French touch.
Disliked: I was staying there related to work and the Wi-Fi signal kept dropping during the evening which was frustrating. The hot water works on a demand basis and whilst my shower started off hot it eventually was cold by the time I was finished. The internal decor is charming and has antique furniture that is in keeping with the French theme. But the gloss paint around the door frames is badly chipped and gives a run down appearance. The carpet on the staircase is trodden and looks old. The air conditioning was noisy and I turned it off.

Liked: The spacious room and having our own private facilities
Disliked: The bed was rock hard so we didn't get much sleep but had a wonderful time

Great place for a wonderful...

Liked: The owner is the chef and he prepared a very good breakfast for us. The location was great! Very lovely place. The weather was gorgeous and we particularly loved spending time in the evening on the upstairs balcony overlooking the fountain.
Disliked: The lighting in the parlor was not bright enough for us to play cards at night. But that was ok --perfect natural lighting for daytime.

A great three day two...

Liked: The breakfast was very good. The location was great.
