The Spotlight on Historic Hotel Bethlehem

Classic Elegance Meets Live Music Energy in Downtown Bethlehem

Modern music lovers with an appreciation for history will feel right at home at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem. Located on picturesque Main Street in the heart of Historic Moravian Bethlehem, this award-winning hotel blends 1920s glamour with contemporary comfort. From the grand ballroom murals to the welcoming Tap Room, you're surrounded by charm — and just a short walk or ride from Bethlehem’s top live music venues, including the popular ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and this hotel nails it — just under a mile from major event spaces like SteelStacks and Musikfest. After the encore, it's a breeze to get back to your room, whether you're walking or catching a quick rideshare. Despite its central spot, guests consistently mention how peaceful and quiet the rooms are, ideal for unwinding after a high-energy show. Plus, with a generous check-in at 4:00 PM and checkout at 11:00 AM, you’ve got time to settle in and sleep in.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish base near the action
  • Solo travelers chasing that once-in-a-lifetime performance
  • Couples turning a concert into a romantic weekend
  • Fans who want a quiet, restful stay after the show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who value location and history

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s two on-site restaurants make it easy to fuel up without going far. The 1741 on the Terrace offers elegant dinners and a solid Sunday Brunch — perfect after a late night. For something more relaxed, the Tap Room serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a cozy pub setting. While there's no 24/7 room service, the dining options are varied and high-quality, with plenty of walkable eateries nearby for post-show cravings.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself leans more refined than rowdy, you’re just steps from downtown Bethlehem’s vibrant nightlife. From craft cocktail lounges to live music bars, there’s no shortage of places to keep the night going. You won’t find a DJ in the lobby, but you will find local wines, excellent service, and a relaxed bar vibe perfect for winding down.

What People Say

Guests rave about the historic charm and immaculate attention to detail. The staff earns top marks for being friendly and helpful, and the location is a frequent favorite among reviewers — walkable to shops, restaurants, and venues. The complimentary shuttle to Lehigh Valley International Airport is a nice bonus for out-of-town visitors.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the historic nature of the hotel means rooms can vary in size and layout. While beautifully maintained, a few areas show their age — but that’s also part of the charm. It’s not the spot for those wanting ultra-modern amenities or late-night room service.

The Bottom Line

With its unbeatable location, timeless character, and cozy ambiance, Historic Hotel Bethlehem is a perfect home base for concert-goers looking to mix history with harmony.

Great visit to "Hotel B"

Liked: Booked "Hotel B" due to its proximity to a Lehigh University reunion. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Wasn't able to dine at 1741 on the Terrace due to events and timing of our departure. The Tap room restaurant had good food and excellent wait staff, dining both at the bar and tables for breakfast and lunch. Bartenders remembered our drink order from the very first time we visited even though they were busy the whole weekend. We never saw Housekeeping, but the bed was always made and clean towels fully stocked. Hotel security delt with an intoxicated person at the bar discreetly and respectfully, escorting them from the property. We enjoyed a nice walk exploring the many shops and even visited with Santa across the street from the hotel.
Disliked: Our room was cramped, but clean and comfortable. The Valet department needed twice the staff on both our arrival and departure, due to the number of events occurring that weekend. Ended up jumping on the free shuttle to the valet lot to pick up my own vehicle after waiting what seemed 30 minutes.

Funny place to stay

Liked: The historic look and feel of the hotel, and the staff
Disliked: The waiting time for the car to be picked, via the Valet Parking services and the price for some things. Single Expresso for 6,5$?

Beautiful hotel and accommodations but...

Liked: Our room was excellent. The staff were great. The hotel lobbies were very attractive. We had looked forward to dining in the beautiful dining room. Our biggest regret was the food. See below.
Disliked: We both had entres. My husband ordered the strip steak RARE and even discussed with the waiter that he really did mean RARE. The food arrived not at all rare and it was returned to the kitchen. In the meantime, my dinner was served (halibut) but became cold waiting for at least 10 minutes before my husband was served with his steak. And it was not tender. It was not the evening we had wanted.

Very good

Liked: The beautiful building which is well maintained. The classic vibe which you feel immediately upon entering the lobby. My one complaint would be the rooms need a little tlc, especially the bathrooms. Cracked porcelain, stained tiles very small. AC was temperamental.

Lovely

Liked: It was a beautiful place and the staff was very nice. We think the room rate was a little high for the quality of the rooms.
Disliked: A little overpriced
