This former 19th-century schoolhouse has been converted into a comfortable hotel with a friendly atmosphere. Himley Country Hotel is located on the Shropshire border on the edge of Dudley. The high beamed old school room has been extended with a popular conservatory restaurant. Himley Country Hotel has been awarded 3 stars by the Visit England Awards. Nearby Himley Hall has landscaped gardens that you can visit. The hotel has quiet bedrooms and a peaceful setting an ideal location from which to explore the beauty of the Welsh Borders. Please note that the hotel has no elevator.

Don't stay here. You deserve...

Liked: Bed linen and towels were clean.
Disliked: Other than the hall, the place needed serious renovation. Any repairs were bodged, silicon sealant used to "fix" items that needed replacement, doors repaired with filler, damaged double glazed window units etc.The place felt dangerous. A number of local people I spoke to were horrified that I was staying there.I'm told illegal immigrants are housed there but I can't confirm that. Does Booking.com no favours.

Liked: Shower water.
Disliked: Spring in bed. Dirty bathroom. No fan. Rude lady at reception. She took my bank card after I made payment by card and asked me for more money to stay late and booking.com didn't mention any extra payments. She took my bank card and wrote the number very unprofessional and concerning.

I'd give it a miss.......

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Everything.....room wad cleaned twice in the 2 week stay.....had my van stolen from the car park 2nd week....to then be told it happens all the time. Staff forgot everything I asked them to do. Smallest shower I have ever been in.....awful !!
