Slightly odd hotel tbh

Liked: Staff were lovely. Very friendly and helpful.The OXBO restaurant, where you have brekkie, has stunning views for Surrey and is a lovely space.The bed was extremely comfortable with very good pillows.
Disliked: This is a slightly odd hotel to be honest, mostly I think because of design flaws.The room is strange. One small slit window in the corner which looks out over high rise blocks. The bathroom is peculiar: a hip bath that you can barely squeeze into and certainly not a conventional understanding of the word ‘bath’. Much of the bathroom is barren floor space. The loo doesn’t flush properly because, again, it’s a stupid design. There are no toiletries provided apart from soaps: so none of your normal extras like, erm, a shower cap.There are no dressing gowns, no coffee maker which, heck, even premier inn and travelodge manage to rustle up these days, and the most ridiculous ceramic kettle - a guaranteed recipe for breakage.Room service is very limited.Outside of the room the same design flaws dominate. Of the 4 lifts, only 1 is operating. This is partly because the outside of the hotel suffered a major issue. When the wind blew the cladding came off, nearly killing people below. So the whole street is still sealed off and has been for months whilst the cladding is re-attached in a way which actually sticks to the building itself rather than, you know, floating off into town. This also means that if you want to enter the Hilton on foot you need to know Woking’s multiple shopping centre maze and come in via the Superbowl shop.I really liked the staff very much but the hotel itself is wildly over priced and poorly designed. Apart from that restaurant at the top which is sensational.

Liked: I found it a bit difficult to find the way from the station to the hotel, but with help managed it ok.My room was comfortable, quiet and clean.I thoroughly enjoyed the evening meal I had in Oxbow restaurant, with stunning views and helpful staff.Breakfast was very good, but I would have liked having a hot plate for my cooked items, rather than a cold one.As I currently need to use a walking stick, a staff member was kind enough to help me when needed.An enjoyable stay - thank you.

On the whole very enjoyable

Liked: Very accessible, easy check in. Lovely rooms. Visiting family so ideal.
Disliked: Tea tray was not refreshed or cleaned, dirty cups and glasses left from day before. Upstairs bar lovely but as travelling alone would be nice if maybe you could have a glass of wine on an evening in the lounge downstairs beside reception so a bit more informal.
