Liked: Very quiet, comfortable. Resort feel. Much prettier in real life than photos. The pool was wonderful, never crowded, and felt very remote. Bed was very comfortable, kitchen and living area clean and up to date

Liked: Room was very nicely apportioned; kitchen well stocked. Bed was very comfortable. Pool was excellent; loved the swings. Fitness center was excellent. Paddle ball court was great. Playground was sweet! Welcome center was very nice. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Felt like we were in a park.
Disliked: There was a fully 1 inch gap under the door connecting to the adjacent suite that allowed us to hear everything the neighbors were saying as if they were sitting in our suite. I used a pillow to block the gap. Thereafter their conversations (including plenteous use of the f bomb) were much muted, to our delight. Nature trail showed that the property is a bit run down; would be helpful to screen some of the ancient ruins. Did not like the deceptive practice, common to all resorts apparently, of offering "free nights." We ran into the same thing 25 years ago at Marriott's resort in Newport Beach, CA. Two free nights if you are willing to endure a 90 minute sales pitch. Just tell us up front you want to show us your properties and a means to participate in them. You don't have to be deceptive about it. It was bothersome to have to deal with it and took a bit of the pleasant edge off of an otherwise wonderful time on OBX.

Excellent place to stay with...

Liked: Very good location. A little dated on the outside, but inside was very clean and refreshed. A hidden gem in OBX!
Disliked: Some noise from construction on other units early in the morning and the sales staff makes a few attempts to get you to attend a sales seminar about their vacation “club” (timeshare).
