Liked: Beverly, at the front desk, was beyond amazing. She navigated our 3 room booking with 9 women with such grace. Even when booking.com put my first name as my last name, she figured it all out. The property is pristine, quiet and close to everything you could ever need in St. Augustine. I always recommend a deep dive into their history.
Disliked: My only complaint are the pillows. This is just my personal opinion and preference, but they were entirely too soft with no support. Outside of that, zero complaints.

A very expensive stay in...

Liked: We liked the location and the ability to walk to so many places. The view from the balcony rooms was nice.Free water bottles. Valet guys were nice. There was a nice outdoor courtyard area where we could hang out and have happy hour with tons of room for the seven of us.
Disliked: The fact that the hotel had contacted me just days before saying yes- I have the rooms upstairs as requested and yes- the 2 balcony rooms were next to each other. But upon arrival, the staff didn't seem to know that the guest could correspond with the hotel THROUGH booking.com, as I had. I had to argue with them about it when they told me NO upstairs rooms and the rooms NOT together. We went round and round. I showed them my phone with the message from the hotel. This was a special birthday weekend and it started out like this - bad. In the end, they said the reason was painting of the balconies but we compromised that my party would stay on first floor the first night and then they would let us move upstairs for the next two nights. Inconvient - yes, but better than nothing. No one wants to arrive for a holiday weekend and find out they have to pack up and move the next morning and resettle again. But we did it.By the way, the rooms are pretty boring - grey in color, no overhead lighting - just lamps. Barely any art or decor.Would I stay here again if I visited St Aug in the future? No, can't say that I would. Would I recommend it to others? Nope.
