Poor - 1 out of 5

Andrea Q, Barnet, visiting Motorpoint Arena Nottingham Fri, 5 July 2013

Unhelpful staff; tried charging £24 more than quote; first room full of dust, cobwebs and cigarette butts outside window. View was of a rundown building and not the partial street view quoted. My friend is severely asthmatic! Second room had one flannel for two people, no hand soap, no bible, desk lamp didn't work. The cost of breakfast is a rip off for £19 as food was very poor! Of all the hotels I've stayed in over the last 35 years, this is the worst!

Liked: None.
Disliked: Dirty and too many other negatives to mention.

Pretty good city break

Liked: Staff were friendly, pool looked lovely (we didn't get a chance to use it, but that was nothing to do with the hotel). Breakfast was nice, the food looked fresh, rather than looking like it had been there for ages as sometimes happens with a breakfast buffet. Room and bathroom were spacious. Great location.
Disliked: The children were provided with a camp bed and a sofa bed to sleep on. The camp bed was horrendous. It was all hard springs and no padding to the mattress. Our daughter could not sit on it, never mind sleep on it. Thankfully there was space in the sofa bed with her older sister. However, that was not great either. There's no chance an older child or adult could sleep on it, the mattress was on it's last legs.

Stayed in better Blackpool B&Bs...

Liked: The older gent I think was a greeter and the housekeeper were lovely and helpful. But that was as good as it got !
Disliked: Dirty room, dated, marked and old furniture and paintwork, cleanliness, staff, poolBy far the worst nights sleep I've ever had. Pillows were like pieces of paper, asked for some more at 8am the next morning.. had to ask 3 more times until we got them. Room tiny.. hot with nothing but a fan. No fridge. No instructions in room on how to call reception so had to use phone. Staff did and promised anything to get rid of you complaining including lying.. yes that's you reception staff. Promised a partial refund for the state of the room and facilitates.. still waiting a week later after saying 3-5 working days.Poll was filthy and full of unaccompanied screaming teenagers trying to drown each other and chasing each other round the outside of the pool. Cant comment on breakfast as we had to be out by 8.30am each morning for an event and were too exhausted from lack of sleep to make it up early enough to go so ended up in the MCd every morning grabbing and going. The beds are uncomfy the Walls are paper thin and I could hear my neighbour talking till 6am every morning.Wardrobe door falling off and a view of an enormous block of flats with a security light that stayed on all night and curtians that didn't shut properly. ! Don't be fooled l, this is not a Hilton .. avoid like the plague !!

Inaccurate hotel description

Liked: Breakfast was good. Pleasant staff.
Disliked: I chose this hotel as it is advertised as having on site parking (I have arthritic hips and knees. Due to the traffic system it is not possible to get to the hotel. Car park is NOT available due to building works at this time. I had to park up the street ( Victoria Place) and walk to the hotel. It cost me 16.50 to do so.Also, I chose a ? Waguu? burger from the menu as the description made it sound good. A very mediocre minimal burger turned up accompanied by six chips in a tin can. It cost over 14 !!! I will avoid Hilton Hotels in the future as l would much rather stay somewhere that is honest about it?s facilities and menu?s
