OK but not great, not...

Liked: The hotel is clean internally
Disliked: Room a little tired, we stayed in a junior king suite, light bulbs were out in a few places in the room, dimmer switches didn't work, this meant that the room was either too dark (as the side lights weren't working ) or too bright as we couldn't dim the main lights. the dressing table, which is situated in a cupboard with a low table, had no where to sit and no lighting so you couldn't use the mirror. Wallpaper peeling in places and just looked tired. Large double balcony looked lovely, but when we actually sat outside the water feature in the courtyard was so stagnant that the smell was intensely disgusting to the point that we couldnt sit out there and had to close the door to stop the smell permeating the room. Pillows were lumpy, they need replacing. room service drinks were hit and miss. We ordered 2 old fashioned cocktails *£16 each. They arrived and were basically whiskey and soda (old fashioned shouldn't be fizzy!) When I asked for a replacement I was made to feel like I was lying about the cocktails ! I then got replacements and they were much better, so I think this was a bar training issue. We paid £50 extra for 2 hrs in the spa. We have visited this hotel many times and used to be spa members. The pool area used to have a wonderful twinkly lit ceiling which has now been replaced with a metal roof that is incredibly rusty, there were a few beds, but not enough, the jacuzzi was foamy, and not very warm and the sauna was not hot at all. Not worth the extra money at all. The stay was okay, but paying nearly £300 for a room and then an additional £50 to visit the spa for 2 hours was a little steep for the quality. Although general cleanliness was good, general maintenance of the rooms and spa and outdoor spaces is poor.
