Liked: Staff were lovely except for a guy who brought additional tea and milk (only 2 tea bags and milk pots in room on arrival) and hovered for a tip.
Disliked: Checked in just after lunch. Room was roasting and thermostat didn't seem to be working. Reported it to the housekeeper who agreed and said she'd call maintenance. We then went out. Came back about 11.30pm and room was still extremely hot (this was March). Tried to sleep on top of the bed but eventually got up at 6am because it was so hot and stuffy and had a cool bath! Heard apparent maintenance work going on overhead and fan came on shortly after. A pity it hadn't been done when first reported.

Liked: This hotel is fabulous. Close to town centre. Very clean. Welcoming reception staff. Lovely bar and restaurant. High standards which is what you expect from a Hilton hotel.
Disliked: A bit overcrowded at breakfast. We were allocated a table and when we went to get our breakfast other guests were in our seats. Tables very close to each other. Guests were walking inbetween tables to get to the food. Servers seemed unwilling to mention to guests about this.

Nice decor shame about the...
Liked: Our arrival didn't bode well with minimal information that left us in an unmoving lift until another guest got in and explained the key card unlocking system to access our floor! The next evening, after attending a funeral, a surly waiter ruined our meal with his impatience and ego, so much so we complained to the manager who did his best to smooth things over but sadly too late to save the unhappiness. Went for a swim in the 'leisure and spa' to do laps whilst listening to a swimming teacher yelling endless at her young student. There was no leisure in that space!Other than the decor of the hotel and a very well stocked breakfast there was little to like.
Disliked: See above! Won't be staying there again. All style over substance. The staff need better training and / or incentives do better. The only smiles we got in 2 days was from the desk staff in the leisure centre and from the single charming receptionnist Jessica. A poor effort for Hilton.
