Hilton Glasgow

Liked: Staff were lovely except for a guy who brought additional tea and milk (only 2 tea bags and milk pots in room on arrival) and hovered for a tip.
Disliked: Checked in just after lunch. Room was roasting and thermostat didn't seem to be working. Reported it to the housekeeper who agreed and said she'd call maintenance. We then went out. Came back about 11.30pm and room was still extremely hot (this was March). Tried to sleep on top of the bed but eventually got up at 6am because it was so hot and stuffy and had a cool bath! Heard apparent maintenance work going on overhead and fan came on shortly after. A pity it hadn't been done when first reported.

Nice hotel, I would recommend...

Nice enough hotel and room...

Liked: The property was nice and comfortable, room was clean, breakfast was ok. There appeared only to be one restaurant available, which for a property of the size and brand was a bit odd. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: I was surprised regarding the number of restaurants, the food available was ok, nothing more!

Liked: Good location to city. Room was upgraded. Breakfast excellent. Car park within hotel good location.
Disliked: Nothing all was fine.

Nice but last day ruined...

Liked: The room was perfect, comfiest bed! The staff in the front desk and the restaurant were very nice. The gym and pool facilites are perfect, i would really recommend staying here.
Disliked: We had an issue the last day of our stay. I asked for late check-out and the front desk said it was okey. At 11:00 (the late check-out was at 12) a lady started banging on the door saying we need to leave?? When I opened the door to explain about the late check out she just screamed saying YOU NEED TO LEAVE THE ROOM. I explained again the late check-out and her only reply was "I cant see if there is late check-out", a man had to come over and calm the lady down. The woman NEVER APOLOGIZED , the man was very polite and offered an apology for her co-worker. I explained this incident in the front desk, hopefully it wont happen again to any other guest.

Stay at Hilton Glasgow not...

Liked: The staff were exceptional especially Carolann in the Dilmah Tea lounge and the check in receptionists and Spa staff. The breakfast was spot on, so much choice and the omelettes were fantastic The afternoon tea was the best we have ever had with so much different teas to choose from. The beds were also very comfortable but the pillow was just a touch on the soft side for my personal choice.
Disliked: The fact there were no drawer space of any kind and very limited cupboard. Most of the time we had to use our suitcase as space to store our clothes which I really didn't likeWe also asked for a quiet area/room of the hotel as I am a very light sleeper, however on the 2nd night of our stay they moved a family with children in the room above us who were very noisy and kept running around, I believe in this type of hotel Children should not be allowed as it spoils the serene nature of the hotel. Also with the Spa although well thought out with plenty of room and amenities the main pool was very cold, like that of an outside pool. Also my communication with the hotel before we attended was poor. It took several messages and phone calls before getting the basic of reservations dealt with. Finally having to pay £15 a night for parking when you have already paid for the hotel and breakfast is really way too much.
