George, Dublin, visiting Oran Mor Glasgow Wed, 21 December 2022

Hotel is up to a decent standard; not too far from city centre with a regular bus route outside. Plenty of shop and restaurants nearby as well and opposite the Botanic Gardens.

Liked: Decent standard of hotel; nice room. Good, firm bed.
Disliked: A section of marble panel on the front steps had come loose and was just lying there on a step. By day 3, it was lying at an angle against the bottom step. Could have represented a fall or trip hazard in what was firstly icy, then rainy weather. Just thought it strange that staff didn't at least remove this loose bit over the days.

All it has going for...

Liked: location . I'm afraid it is what it has going for it . Everything else was below standard .
Disliked: -Car park full of litter and i actually stood on a can one night getting stiff out my boot and twisted my ankle. A disgrace .-I booked and had to move my dates by two days which apparently was allowed with the booking. After many calls and conversations i gave up and had to check out early. By time i got to speak with someone that was willing to listen there were no rooms available. -Hotel is run down and even had huge stains on our room ceiling. There was a hole in the ceiling at the lift. The secondary glazing metal frame was dirty. Breakfast offering is very poor. Coffee machines were broken when i was there. Booked a family room thinking it would have a fridge. It didn't . I ended up getting directed to the bar with a very tired child an ice bucket from the bar after a 15 min wait . I'm from a hotel background . Place is being run on a show string budget. For the money we were charged would have expected a much better standard. We won't be returning to the hotel even though the location is great.

Very pleasant, we had dinner...

Liked: Breakfast was fine. Coffee could be better.
Disliked: We had no hot water in the shower/bath. Tepid trickle at best. But I reported this, so hopefully it was dealt with.

Good hotel,

Liked: Location was perfect for us as we were attending a concert at Oran Mor. The staff at the hotel were friendly and very professional, especially Peter who welcomed us and gave us a lot of useful information until the checkout was free, he told us where the restaurants were, public car parking, every question we asked he had the answer and information. When we were walking around in the hotel, if Peter saw us he would politely stop us an just check that everything was okay and that we had what we needed, it was re assuring to know that if we did have any problems, Peter was a man that can and he would sort things out
Disliked: Car parking is an issue, the hotel has very limited car parking spaces, but it is a city centre hotel, there is public parking out the front of the hotel which is not over expensive £8.00 for 2 hours, after 6.00pm it is free and starts again at 08.00am the following morning which worked perfectly for us
