Liked: Great modern design , Very comfortable bed , soft pillows as not too high to sleep on, storage for luggage for few hours was for free once we checked out.To compare up to 8hrs in the airport terminal 1 was 20 CAD per one luggage .Free shuttle between hotel and airport, easy to get from hotel to union station in Toronto in around 20 mins from airport to downtown.

No Car Needed to Travel...

Liked: Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport is just a short shuttle bus ride from Toronto Pearson International Airport, where guests can connect to trains and other transport to the City. This was the main reason we stayed there, since we did not wish to rent a car. The UP Express Train operates from Terminal 1 and carries passengers to downtown in about 30 minutes (though it is a bit expensive). An alternative is the TTC #900 Airport Express bus, which carries passengers to Kipling Station at the terminus of subway line 2 (for $3.30 CAD) one way. The combination of bus and train takes about 45 minutes to downtown. We enjoyed the pleasant and helpful attitude of the staff at the Garden Inn. We also enjoyed the breakfast, which has a wide variety of cold and warm selections, fresh and cut fruit, cereals, and an egg/omelet station where your eggs are made to order. The room was clean and the atmosphere was quiet, even though this hotel is not far from the runways.
Disliked: One thing that could be improved is the airport shuttle service. On the multiple occasions that we used this service, on only one of them was the shuttle on time and not crowded. On other occasions, the shuttle was so overloaded with passengers that we felt unsafe in transit, with the bus leaning significantly at each turn and few places for standees to hang on. Luckily, the ride is only a few minutes to the terminal. The shuttle serves two hotels, and this could be part of the problem. Also, in the room, there were things in need of repair. The air conditioner in our room was very noisy, clunking every time it turned on; we decided to do without it at night. The electrical outlets on the nightstand were for the most part not functional. Also, the shower door did not close fully, making for a small puddle on the bathroom floor after each use. Finally, the bath did not have sufficient hooks to hang towels and robes to dry (there was just one). The beds were comfortable, but the remainder of the room could use some improvement. The staff tried to help with the air conditioner, but it was not possible to resolve the other issues during our stay. Hopefully they will be addressed soon.
