Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Airport South

I chose this hotel because of an excellent experience with Carlton Country Inn & Suites in Pennsylvania last year. The hotel in San Antonio doesn't come close to the quality, comfort and cleanliness of the Pennsylvania hotel.

Liked: Bed linens appeared to be clean. Coffee in the breakfast area was very good.
Disliked: Bathtub emptied very, very slowly. Just inside the drain was slimey and gross. There were only a few non-slip strips in the tub and those few were close to the drain. Towels appeared to have been "dumped" in the bathroom rather than placed neatly. Pillows were so hard they could have been used as a weapon. Bedside alarm was set and turned to "on" - something I was not aware of until the alarm sounded.

I find Hilton Garden Inn...

Liked: I enjoy Hilton Garden Inn as a brand for the type of travel I do. The facility was comfortable and the public rooms were warm and inviting, especially the spacious lobby.
Disliked: finding the hotel was very challenging, the GPS map was confusing and the street signage on Broadway was not immediately visible. Luckily, there were two of us navigating so one could drive and one could lookout for signage.The bathtub shower lacked a mat, and the floor of the tub was very slippery. I had to maneuver with great care getting into and out of the shower.

Liked: The bed was comfortable and the room quiet.
Disliked: The night desk clerk disappears, doesn’t answer the phone, and was very rude during check in.

Liked: Excellent location not far from the airport, very clean bed was comfortable and had a good night sleep/
Disliked: Every other hotels that I have stayed had complimentary breakfast, had to go somewhere else for breakfast.

Bad

It’s surprising that this was...

Disliked: The room was not clean. The air conditioner did not work. The hallways were dirty and I had to pay for parking.
