Hilton Garden Inn Rochester/Pittsford

A Clean, Comfortable, Friendly Stay

Liked: This is an attractive hotel with decent food and a location that worked for my husband and me given our reasons for being in Pittsford.
Disliked: “Garden Inn” has the sound of a hotel more luxurious than this is, but that didn’t detract from our comfort for one night.

Good

Overall I was not impressed...

Liked: The front desk staff were very friendly and the bed was comfortable
Disliked: The overall look of the hotel was worn and outdated. The carpets look old and faded. The walls and hotel room doors haven’t been painted in decades. For the price of the room I was surprised there was a charge for breakfast. I stayed in the terrace level room with a view of the parking lot and nothing else.

Poor Experience, never returning.

Liked: Nothing other than location
Disliked: Elevator was very slow. Cleaning staff was always using elevator. In our 2 day stay, cleaning staff was occupying elevator 5 times and acted as if we, the customer, were inconvenienceing them.

Disliked: Bar was closed, breakfast is mediocre, the hotel needs some upgrades,

Liked: Great location. Helpful desk staff. Actually pretty quiet.
Disliked: Not much. Only fault was my morning bacon was not hot which was fixed. There’s a wall thermostat in the room but you’re supposed to use the controls on the unit. Odd and confusing.

Disliked: Breakfast was confusing. It’s only included if you have a voucher. You need to ask the front desk if you have an included voucher. If you don’t, you need to pay and it isn’t any different food than what other motels offer for free

comfortable hotel south of Pittsford...

Liked: Enjoyed buffet breakfast. Room was comfortable. Very good soundproofed windows. Hardly noticed the sounds of jackhammering of 490 interchange supports. our friends in a different wing didn't even hear it.
Disliked: Room's bathroom could use a little TLC. Toilet rocked. Shower had signs of rust (more caulking) Didn't report it to front desk at 4:30am check-out. Not awake yet and not that big of issue.
