Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh-University Center Pa

Hilton Garden Inn is a very nice place to stay. Close to restaurants and the Petersen Center. The free shuttle service, so we didn't have to walk up that enormous hill, was so appreciated. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone attending an event at the Petersen Center.

Liked: The close proximity to our venue and the shuttle for taking us up the hill.
Disliked: Parking, so the valet was much appreciated and worth the additional cost.

Liked: the hotel was well located and there were stores such as CVS nearby. Bus stop was also nearby. Hotel was near the University which was important.
Disliked: Breakfast was not great but ok. I had to ask more than one person for information about taking a bus and # to downtown that I think everyone at the front desk should have known.

Liked: The room was spacious.The cleaning was decent and done daily as requested (I needed it based on my health condition).I could leave my luggage at the reception after check-out until leaving to the airport, so I could go to a museum between check-out and the trip to the airport.The venue where I was attending an event was reachable by feet.The window view was nice.I could not change dates for my booking so I had to make two bookings, while they could offer me the same room for the whole stay - what I appreciated.
Disliked: The appearance of the room was outdated, it was not aesthetically pleasing.On the day of check-out, cleaning lady was knocking to my door annoyingly.I did not get any help from the reception on several occasions.I could not change dates for my booking so I had to make two bookings and possibly over-paid.The desk was close to be broken.The curtains were not completely clean.

I wasn't expecting the room...

Liked: I had pancakes for breakfast one morning and the staff was helpful and very nice. They provided an extra cup of coffee to go and a container for the rest of my breakfast.
Disliked: We could hear clicking and doors opening from the rooms near us, so that the first night I kept waiting for our room door to open. One of the bed sheets was stained and the coffee machine wasn't working. We should have been offered the senior rate ($653) instead of the rate we were charged ($698)Staff at front desk. One of the young men didn't seem to know his job.
