Modern Comfort Just Steps from the Stage

Modern, convenient, and perfectly located, the Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis Downtown is a favorite for music lovers heading to concerts in the city. Set just a short walk from the Minneapolis Convention Center and U.S. Bank Stadium, and within easy reach of the Armory, this stylish hotel offers everything you need for a hassle-free concert night — and a relaxing morning after.
The vibe is easygoing and comfortable, with great service and thoughtful amenities, including an indoor pool and a 24-hour business center for any late-night planning or post-show photo uploads.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and this hotel nails it. You can easily walk to major venues like the Armory and U.S. Bank Stadium, making it perfect if you want to avoid the post-concert traffic. The area is surprisingly quiet at night for a downtown spot, so you’ll get your rest after the encore. With check-in at 3:00 PM and a generous 12:00 PM checkout, there’s plenty of time to recover before hitting the road again. Plus, Ubers and public transit are readily available nearby for late-night rides.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends heading to a weekend concert
  • Solo travelers checking off a dream tour stop
  • Couples looking for a stylish downtown escape
  • Fans wanting a peaceful night’s sleep after the noise
  • Budget-conscious music fans who want value without sacrificing comfort

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Garden Grille & Bar is a solid choice for dinner or drinks before the show, and if you’re craving something late, the 24-hour convenience store has your back. Every room comes with a microwave and fridge for snacks or leftovers. While there’s no full late-night menu, room service is available, and breakfast is served — perfect for that slow morning after a big night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t have live music, you’re within walking distance of downtown bars and lounges. Whether you’re looking for a chill post-show cocktail or want to keep the energy going, the surrounding area delivers. The hotel’s bar also carries a selection of local brews if you’d rather stay in and sip.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean, modern rooms, and the unbeatable location for concerts and events. Reviews highlight the quiet atmosphere despite being downtown and the convenience of having so many venues within a short walk. Many also mention the comfortable beds — a detail that matters after hours on your feet.

Areas for Improvement

Parking is available but can be a bit pricey, which is common in downtown areas. Some guests note that the lobby can get a little busy during event nights — but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?

The Bottom Line

If you’re heading to a Minneapolis concert and want a central, comfortable, and convenient place to crash, the Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis Downtown hits all the right notes.

Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Kathleen B, Clark, visiting Pantages Theatre Minneapolis

We had no issues with the hotel, but felt it was somewhat overpriced due to the downtown location. We were treated courteously, but as mentioned above, did not appreciate having to cough up an extra $24 for parking. We are retired and on a fixed income, so would have liked to have been advised of this beforehand. We really didn't think the hotel was anything outstanding, and it seems as though you are mostly paying for the "Hilton" name. Should we return to Minneapolis in the future, we will likely choose a different lodging site.

Liked: The room was comfortable, quiet and immaculate.
Disliked: We were unaware of the mandatory $24 valet parking fee and that was an unpleasant surprise.

Excellent accommodation. Restaurant and bar hours could be extended. Colton at the front desk always went way beyond expectations! Centrally located.

Liked: The personnel, the room, the town car availability.

The hotel stay was very pleasant. Loved the front area. Decorated beautifully and everyone was very friendly. All in all I would stay here again.

Liked: Good price, beautiful decor, nice rooms.

Denice, Forest Lake

All in all this was a very nice hotel. I would stay here again. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious enough for 4 adults.

Liked: The hotel staff was very friendly and considerate. The room was nice, and they even have recycling in the rooms. I would stay here again.
Disliked: The driving service they have available for guests was ok. The valet parking only was a little upsetting.

Disappointed in the overall experience.

Liked: The bar/restaurant staff and service was top notch! Great food and great bartenders. The fact that they were very personable took the sting out of the way overpriced drinks and food.
Disliked: The price. It started as a very decent price for a downtown Hilton, but then breakfast is not included and parking is not included. Parking situation should be stated when advertising. All other downtown hotels include it as a guest convenience. It would have been better to stay in a better location and pay a little more since you get charged extra for all of that upon arrival. Next time we will stay closer to our event location.

I enjoyed my stay and...

Liked: I liked how close it was to US Bank Stadium. The walk is about 18 minutes. We traveled for The Weeknd concert and immensely appreciated the fact that the restaurant stayed open to accommodate the people coming back from the concert - the bbq flatbread was much needed!!!
