Hilton Garden Inn Dubuque Down

We had a good stay.

Liked: The room was clean and comfortable. Location to downtown Dubuque was close and easily accessible. Very convenient for travel East after our stay.
Disliked: No complaints. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Disappointed

Disliked: Website said room service, at check in desk personnel said no room service, shower did not work right, construction on site with noisy equipment.

I’m fairly satisfied, but there...

Liked: The bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: The bathtub had black mold in it which is unacceptable, and we had to fix the sliding glass shower door ourselves. Also for paying almost $300 per night for the room I’m still expected to pay three dollars for a bottle of water in the room and breakfast is not included in the price, which is kind of ridiculous.

Room was nice, breakfast accommodations...

Liked: the room was nice and very clean. We didn't have breakfast at hotel but it looked like it was good. We would try if we stay again.
Disliked: We stayed on a Sunday night. We had requested to check in early when we booked the room. When we arrived there were no rooms available yet but the woman at the desk said she would call when a room was available. We thanked her. She never called and was still at the desk when we arrived between 5 and 6pm. I reminded her that she was going to call us when a room was available and said I hoped there was a room available now. she said there was and gave us room 301. (I had asked for a room with a view, if there was one. She said you could see trees and some of the construction area. I said ok. ) She didn't say the construction would start at 7:15ish on Monday morning and work would be right outside our room. We woke to loud construction machinery outside our window. When we checked out Monday morning, the new woman at the desk asked how our room was. We said we liked the room itself but not the loud construction noises at 7:15. She checked the room we had and said they don't give 101, 201 and 301 out due to the loud noise. She was surprised we had been assigned that room as there were empty rooms in the hotel. We were surprised also.We were also disappointed that the restaurant next door is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Liked: Staff were friendly
Disliked: Everything was monetized. Continental breakfast $10.95, bottled water in room $3, WIFI $4.95 a day unless you join one of their clubs that asks for all your contact info. For these reasons, will never stay at a Hilton again.
