Disliked: On arrival we were asked for ID which I did not have with me to check in even though I had confirmation and already paid for the room. My husband then had to go back out to the car to locate my ID after we had just traveled 4 hours to get there! The receptionist informed us about the facilities and had told us that the bar would close at 12 that night. We came back from a musical in the Bord Gais at 11.40pm and went into the bar at 11:45 to get one drink where we were told that the bar was closed, bear in mind two men had just received drinks whilst we were walking in. Then I informed the bar staff that we were told it wasn't closed until 12 for residents so they decided to serve us. We then ordered a drink where there was not even any lime cordial available and no red bull. We were told we could not pay by card it had to be charged to the room or cash. Then we were informed we couldn't charge it to the room it had to be cash! We then went out to reception to have our drink and went to the reception 24 hour shop where we saw any amount of red bull available, so it was clear that the bar staff did not even check for any red bull or lime cordial elsewhere.My husband then went out for a smoke and the man at reception said to me "why is he smoking out there, there's a smoking area out the back?" to which I replied "well we were not told that"!For a four star hotel you would expect the hospitality to be very welcoming which, it was not. We were very disappointed with our stay and will not be recommending this hotel to anyone!It has declined immensely since the previous owners.

Disliked: The receptionist Sandra was very helpful as so was everyone else.
