Hotel and room perfect, buffet breakfast fantastic, dog friendly but shame about the parking charge

Liked: Hotel grounds lovely and we used them for our dog walking. Room very comfortable with a huge and very comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever seen and all the staff very attentive and helpful
Disliked: the main negative is that they have introduced a charge for parking for residents. The hotel has barriers at the entrance that pick up your car registration. The hotel can only be reached by car so this seems a money making exercise too far. Its currently 8 per day but why should people staying overnight also have to pay. We spoke to the staff on reception who , off the record, agreed that it was unfair, they had had several complaints, but didnt have a choice but to charge it and it had to be paid separately on a terminal in reception. 8 might not seem much but its the principle when you are already paying to stay in the hotel.
