The Spotlight on Hilton Boston Park Plaza

Iconic Elegance Steps from Boston’s Music Scene

Modern sophistication meets historic charm at the Hilton Boston Park Plaza, a landmark hotel in Boston’s Theater District. Originally opened in 1927, this stylish property places you right near the action—just a short walk to top concert venues, the Boston Common, and vibrant nightlife. With refined rooms, blackout shades for sleeping in, and upscale amenities, it’s the perfect base for a music-fueled weekend in the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

You can’t beat the location: nestled in the Theater District, the hotel is just minutes from major music venues and late-night entertainment. Post-show, you’ll appreciate the quiet, comfortable rooms with blackout shades and streaming-capable TVs—ideal for winding down. With a 3:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out, there’s enough flexibility to suit most concert schedules. Plus, the 24/7 concierge is a lifesaver for last-minute rides and local tips.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends looking to catch a show and explore the city
Solo travelers checking off a legendary artist from their list
Couples making a weekend getaway out of a concert night
Fans who want a more peaceful, upscale place to recover after the encore
Budget-conscious music lovers who appreciate value in a historic setting

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Off The Common, serves up locally inspired dishes and offers seasonal in-room dining—perfect for late-night cravings. Need a caffeine fix before heading to a matinee show? There’s a Starbucks® just off the lobby. The hotel also offers breakfast options ideal for those who had a late night and a later start.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more focused on comfort than clubbing, you're surrounded by the best of Boston’s nightlife. From jazz lounges to craft cocktail bars, everything’s just a short walk or ride away. After a show, the hotel’s relaxed atmosphere and lobby bar make it easy to unwind without going far.

What People Say

Guests rave about the unbeatable location, noting how easy it is to walk to concerts and city attractions. Many love the mix of historic architecture and modern amenities, especially the updated rooms with streaming capabilities. Reviewers often mention the welcoming staff and the convenience of on-site dining and fitness options.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the rooms can feel on the smaller side, especially when sharing with a group. Others note that while the hotel is central, that can mean a bit of street noise—so light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. Still, most agree the overall experience is worth it.

The Bottom Line

With its prime location, stylish comfort, and thoughtful amenities, Hilton Boston Park Plaza is a top pick for concert-goers looking to stay in the heart of Boston.

We stayed on 10/26/12 for a concert at the Wilbur. I was quite concerned after reading reviews that were either 1 star or 5 stars. I gave it 5 stars and wonder what the 1 star reviewers experienced. We had a deluxe room which, for the $20 more per night, was absolutely worth it. The lobby is beautiful, the staff was friendly and efficient, the elevators ran perfectly, and the experience was excellent. If one is trying to skimp on everything, one should not be surprised if things aren't perfect. Spend the extra money. We'll stay there again.

Liked: Decor, staff, service.
Disliked: Nothing.

Hotel, although ascetically beautiful, was...

Liked: Its proximity to theater district and restaurants. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was good.
Disliked: The room was small, despite paying over $300 per night. It was $65 to valet. Restaurant in the hotel was expensive.

Love the gym, the location...

Liked: When making a reservation, they accommodated every one of our requests. The front desk staff is great; JJ is the best! Love the gym and the location!
Disliked: Booking through booking.com, there was lots of back and forth with the change to our reservation, unclear if I got my reservation fee back, and finally I did get the reservation fee, but would have appreciated if I didn't have to work so hard to get answers

Checked-out early and switched hotel

Liked: The gym is the only redeeming factor. I checked out early and switched hotel.
Disliked: Smells like a Dave and Busters. Walls are so thin that other rooms’ snoring kept me awake. Noisy air conditioning, room was absolutely TINY and old. Facing other rooms windows. Bathroom tiny and old.
