Our stay was excellent. I...
Disliked: Although I was able to park easily, several vehicles were parked on kerbs as they couldn’t find a parking space. A bit more parking area would help enormously.

Very disappointing stay
Liked: The night manager was very friendly as we arrived back for the night. He was the only staff member who appeared professional and welcoming.
Disliked: I was very disappointed in many aspects of our stay.Upon were asked to come to the end counter and I hadn't noticed a low black table against the wall blocking about a third of the space in front of the counter. As I was looking at the staff member, when she slid the paperwork to the end of the counter and asked me to fill this in I stepped to the side to reach it and bashed into the table. I was in so much pain I exclaimed and pointed out the table whilst clutching my leg. The staff member didn't say a word, I continued to try to fill in the paperwork whilst trying not to cry and explained I had really hurt myself and she literally said nothing. I then had to ask what time breakfast was, where do we go etc, she was terrible. My thigh is so bruised I haven't been able to sleep on that side for three nights now.The room was really disappointing, just really bland and stark. No frills or comforts. No coffee machine. A bottle of water that is charged at £1.50 tasted so strongly of plastic I only drank one sip.The bathroom fan went constantly and was annoying. It was described as a king room but it was actually two beds pushed up together so the duvet wasn't quite big enough and there was a centre join that wasn't comfortable. There was a fire alarm at midnight which was clear and well managed to empty the building, but there were no staff reassuring anyone or telling us we could go back in. We just followed the crowds who I believe heard an automated instruction. That night we had so much trouble with the air conditioning, I was shivering and slept in a sweatshirt. We just couldn't figure it out. It just didn't want to change modes, but I was so tired by this point I didn't want to call down for help. The lighting was so annoying, so many light switches! You had to try them all to get what you wanted, then if you had turned the entry light off by the bed, it wouldn't turn on again from the entry!

Superb
Liked: Hotel was in a good location for us, we were able to travel next morning to catch the red funnel ferry from Southampton very easily from here. The room was very nice, breakfast was lovely it had everything you would want ,I liked that you got greeted at breakfast with a fresh pot of coffee or tea brought to the table rather than self serve awful coffee. Check in and out was of no problems. Lovely view of the cricket pitch whilst having breakfast or an evening meal!
Disliked: I do wish hotels would think of ladies that do make up and hair, some of us would like a mirror positioned at a sit down level, a dressing table ! The evening meal was very nice but the dessert was extremely small for the price! , the apple sponge was a strange texture and such a small scoop of icecream on a massive plate, not worth the money! However these things are minor and did not spoil our stay.
