The Spotlight on Hilton Albany

Modern Comfort in the Heart of Albany

The Hilton Albany offers a sleek, centrally located stay right in downtown Albany. Just a short walk from the Capitol Building, this hotel combines comfort and convenience with a touch of classic Hilton style. With an indoor pool, on-site dining, and free Wi-Fi, you're set up for a relaxing stay between shows and city exploring. Rooms are spacious, featuring flat-screen TVs, coffee makers, and workspaces — with some adding sofa beds for extra sleep space.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is key — and the Hilton Albany is just a quick walk or drive (only 0.2 mi!) from the Times Union Center, making it perfect for catching a show without the stress of parking or transit. Late check-in at 4:00 PM and a relaxed checkout at 11:00 AM give you time to unwind post-show. Plus, the area is quiet enough for a good night’s sleep, even after a high-energy concert.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends heading to a big tour stop
  • Solo travelers seeing a dream artist
  • Couples making a weekend of it
  • Fans who want a restful space after the encore
  • Budget-conscious concert-goers looking for value and location

Food and Drink Options

You won’t go hungry here. Kelsey’s Restaurant serves up American classics — think paninis and hearty soups — perfect for a pre-show bite or a post-show meal. Wester’s Corner keeps breakfast easy the next morning. While 24/7 room service isn’t listed, the on-site dining and nearby walkable options mean you’re covered even after late-night performances.

Nightlife Options

Albany’s downtown nightlife is right outside your door. Enjoy nearby bars and lounges, or have a low-key nightcap in the hotel bar. While there’s no live music on-site, you’ll find plenty of action just a short stroll away.

What People Say

Guests love the location, especially for events at the Times Union Center. Reviews highlight the friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and the convenience of having dining options on-site. Many mention how easy it is to get around, and how quiet the hotel is despite being in the city center.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the hotel is starting to show its age in parts, especially in decor and furnishings. Occasional comments about parking fees or slow elevators pop up, but most guests agree it’s a solid stay for the price and location.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to a concert in Albany and want a central, comfortable hotel just steps from the venue, Hilton Albany hits the right notes.

Great experience with staff, checking in and out and perfect parking. Thought the price was a little high for the condition of the room with the ceiling paint peeling and very obvious repairs done (not quality work).

Liked: Check in and out easy; staff were attentive and helpful.
Disliked: The ceiling in out room was peeling and there were obvious repairs done.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

On check in I was told that they didn't have a room with a king size available after reserving it months ago. They gave me a room with "2 queen sized beds|" instead. I said OK. Get to the room. It's two full size beds. When I went to the front desk staff to complain, they got the manager to come out and gas light us that they were queen sized. My girlfriend and I sleep in a queen. She happened to have her tape measure with her from work. These are full size beds. I paid extra so my girlfriend and I could have a great weekend away and this is not what I paid for.

Liked: The lobby is nice.
Disliked: Not as advertised and gas lit by staff.

Overall our stay at the Hilton Albany was very good.

Liked: Proximity to Times Union Center. Views to St. Patty's day parade from our room on the 10th floor.
Disliked: Hot water ran out fairly quickly. Hotel had no vacancies due to the Garth Brooks concert (which is a good thing!). Take into consideration that I like showering with steaming hot water so this may not be an issue for some.

Was greeted very nicely at desk. Parking was comped at half price because it was for one night. Great location close to venues. Bed was really comfortable and cozy. Onsite restaurant was very welcoming and a good breakfast.
