Hillside Inn

Very good

Comfortable, but nothing more.

Liked: We had the family suite, with one bed in the secondary bedroom, and two beds in the main room. There was a small kitchen in a separate room. It was clean and there was enough space, but that's about all there is to note.
Disliked: The room layout was a bit awkward, including the bathroom space. The decor was plain, and the kitchen was not well appointed. I wouldn't count on preparing anything there. It's also very easy to get locked out of the kitchen, especially for kids. We didn't get to use the pool. Breakfast was about as expected.

Liked: Staff at front desk was ok
Disliked: Have stayed here before and it was just OK, so our expectations were low. This time was horrible!! Filthy room, stained carpets, dirty walls. Sink clogged multiple times - was already clogged when we arrived - and housekeeping had to keep coming back to try and unclog it. Marcin containers littering the ground outside, no towels for pool. The strong smell of mildew in the room had us packed up and leaving by 6am. Never again!

Surprisingly nice room. Cozy bed.

Not a good value for...

Liked: The kids liked the pool. The junior suite had a kitchen area that allowed for more seating and places to spread out within the room.
Disliked: We booked a room for 5 people. The desk clerk knew that because she upgraded us to a junior suite. However, there were only 2 bath towels in the room. No extra towels for the pool either. Only one washcloth. There were 2 full trash bags outside the sliding glass back door of our suite. They must have been there from previous customers. Walking back and forth to our car required us to walk through the restaurant patio seating area. So awkward trying to dodge the waiters with food. The cost was way too high for the quality of the hotel.

Bad

Liked: The attached diner is good.
Disliked: Rooms were filthy and furnishings were broken. Loud AC unit that didn't work.

Disappointing

Cute property and good value

Liked: Owners were extremely accomodating when I asked for an extension on my checkout time. Beds were very comfortable and room was clean and quiet.
Disliked: Furniture was pretty old and worn. Also need an extra Privacy blind on the windows, there is only curtains and you could see through the cracks.

Pleasant

Liked: No breakfast offered. Location good for our needs. Appeared to be a bit dated.Room was good size, with a separate kitchen area.
Disliked: Bed comfort, no soap dish in shower, toilet so close to wall that one’s arm easily knocked the roll of toilet paper off the roller, onto the floor. No hand towel rack/hook near the bathroom sink.
