Would not stay here again,...

Liked: The air conditioning kept the room temperature comfortable. Water pressure and hot water were sufficient. Other than that, staying at this property was pretty terrible.
Disliked: Hilltop appears to be under new management and honestly, it was pretty awful. I have stayed here before and assured my husband it was a quaint, updated, local family owned property. However... now it looks like any other run-down motel. Zero front desk on staff and only an automated answering service available. This room was on the back side, deceivingly called "garden view" and it looks and is super sketchy just being back there. When we opened the door it smelled SO damp and so musty, plus the walls were scuffed, stained, damaged with missing paint. We saw several spiders and webs. Our room was not clean; floors were dirty, there was a lot of mold in the shower and especially around the tub where the caulk meets the wall. No way could you safely take a bath in this place or put your kids in the tub. Shower curtain was dirty, ripped, missing rings and was mostly hanging by a thread. Room above us was so noisy. Very sketchy people here this time, and it also smelled of weed. Disgusting. Power went out on our first day.... when I FINALLY reached a live person and inquired if they had any updates for us, or info on when it would be back on.... a very rude woman answered, "we are not a public utility company. Power is out in the area." She added that, "you can just check out now if you want to." Unbelievable. Such a disappointment in every way, too many to list, even in just 2 nights. Very unfortunate, it used to be the singular standout to stay locally, run by a family who cared. Best part of this stay? Checking OUT. It was two days too many. And a 3 rating was kind, allowing for decent water pressure, hot water and AC. Otherwise, it's a firm NO for us.
