Liked: The room set-up. I enjoyed the decor or the room, dining and kitchen. The views were are added bonus and our host David was very accommodating. The breakfast the following day was excellent.

Disliked: I have never seen a place so cluttered in my life. Multiple teddy bears everywhere. It was like a huge antique shop had a sale and everything was bought by David and jammed into the premises.

Liked: If you’re not a fan of the impersonal, budget-friendly Airbnb stays; if you value quality, comfort and good old-fashioned hospitality; Highwood Park might be the place for your weekend away. No ‘your keys are in the lockbox’ here. When we arrived (an hour late and in pouring rain) we were greeted by our host with an umbrella. Who does that? He showed us around the sitting room, dining room and finally our suite, which was truly magnificent, from the emperor-size bed to the enormous en-suite bathroom to the stunning view from the private patio; everything was extraordinary. And then … he invited us to join both hosts in the sitting room for a glass of wine in front of the fire! We enjoyed a delightful hour or so with David and Dean. Now that’s hospitality extraordinaire! Next morning we shared an amazing multi-course breakfast in the beautiful dining room with the other guests, including a perfectly soft-boiled egg with ‘soldiers’; (very nostalgic). Did I mention the fantastic view from all the rooms across the hills as far as the coast? There are other attractions of course, but for me, the genuine friendly hospitality offered by David and Dean was unbeatable. Highly recommend this venue.

Liked: We were met by the host & shown around but were overwhelmed by the amount of antiques, glassware & nic nacs that covered most surfaces... totally overdone & not really our taste!The BREAKFAST WAS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB with several delightful courses - certainly enough to set you up for the day ahead, Home cooked eggs & tasty treats helped with conversation & bon homie.The wet weather was forgotten!
Disliked: The rugs, throws, cushions, cushions, cushions & teddy bears is soooo over done. Sort of overshadows such a nice location with great views.
