Set within Cairngorm National Park the Highlander Hotel is set in the village of Newtonmore. The Highlander has an on-site restaurant bar and lounge serving breakfasts dinners and bar meals with traditional cuisine. All rooms are en-suite with walk-in showers TV hairdryer tea/coffee making and free toiletries. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. It also has ground floor rooms a garden and free on-site parking. The hotel is dog friendly. The hotel is close to many popular attractions including Highland Folk Museum Highland Wildlife Park Dalwhinnie Distillery and Cairngorm Mountain. As the hotel is only 6 miles from the geographic center of Scotland it offers a base to tour much of Northern Scotland and a great stop before heading to the start of the North Coast 500.

Liked: Room was clean and neatly decorated.Staff were courteous and attentive.

Hotel for groups

Liked: Cold continental breakfast buffet with option to order a hot breakfast. When we had a problem the staff reacted quickly.
Disliked: This hotel caters for groups and coaches of people. Not a small guesthouse. The rooms could do with updating.

Best Value In The Area...

Liked: Best price in the area by a country mile. Large Room with comfortable bed.
Disliked: Hotel is generally tired. We had a ground floor room with extremely loud floorboards above. Broken mirror and shower door in bathroom.

Only stayed one night, would...

Liked: Breakfast very organised and good . Room comfortable. Dinner enjoyable good choice. Staff all very pleasant and helpful.
Disliked: No complaints about anything.

Lovely stay thank you

Liked: Friendly helpful staff, good food and a comfortable room
Disliked: It was very hot when I stayed and the heated towel rail was left on plus I couldn't open the window far enough. Not really problems we often encounter in Scotland to be honest

Perfect for a one night...

Liked: Great value for money. Clean bedroom and bathroom. A great circular walk nearby. Pleasant staff. Plenty of parking.
Disliked: Hotel overall looking dated. We stayed on the hottest night of the year, and the room was incredibly warm and no air con in room. However I expect on a typical Scottish day, probably more comfortable.
