Wonderfully clean and very comfortable.

Liked: Amazing place to stay, the most comfortable pillows and bed I have ever used.Spotlessly clean and amazing decor.I would definitely stay again. Staff polite and helpful. Great quality beding and towels. 5* .
Disliked: Not a 5* breakfast. It was nice and well cooked . However, it was very low quality fruit juice and a lack of fresh fruits.I liked the lack of single using items, and the green approach re drinks in rooms. However, you need to keep it well stocked.

Liked: Fantastic building and grounds great rooms.
Disliked: Had a private event on which stopped us going into outside patio and bar. Not ideal.

Very good

Liked: Location was ok, the house itself is amazing but maintenance needs to be kept on top of..The Stitch room was quirky and we had a lovely view of the garden/ grounds.
Disliked: They Changed the days we could have an evening meal just a week before arrival. Our eggs were cold at breakfast. The Sunday roast could have been better quality for the price. We stayed in the Stitch room, The shower did not have a place for shower gel as was previously broken and would have preferred a fridge in the room , not downstairs.

Exceptional accomodation .

Liked: Highfield is a true luxury experience . The decor is amazing and the room we stayed in was fabulous. Very comfortable and had everything we needed .The gardens and grounds are wonderful ... a truly exceptional place. We also ate in the restaurant which was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and couldnt have been more helpful . We enjoyed our stay tremendously and will definately return when we are next in the area.
Disliked: We loved everything.

Didn’t live up to expectations

Liked: Beautiful historical building. Staff were friendly most of the time.
Disliked: I feel like the whole hotel/stay/experience is being up sold a bit. There’s a general lack in attention to detail. Room was nice, but had holes in the roof and walls with some cables hanging out as if the works were not finished. Annoyingly there were also no power plugs near the bed. Breakfast was also disappointing considering the kitchen is equipped for a 10 course tasting menu. Poached egg on toast came with the eggs well over done on simple plain toast, not sourdough. Choice of cereals etc from the breakfast bar was very limited also.

Pleasant stay but not quite...

Liked: Pretty peaceful location just outside Driffield and near Beverley and other sights; also quite near sea
Disliked: Food not as good as it could have been or boasts. Ordinary Full Breakfast comes with strange dressings; unnecessary for first thing in morning

Exceptional

Liked: Everything! It’s a beautiful building and you can really see the history in it. Our room was so thoughtfully decorated we didn’t want to leave it. And the bed was unbelievably comfy and spacious. Breakfast was incredible (those croissants I will never get over) and everyone there was so kind and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer than the one night to appreciate the surroundings more, but we’ll be back.
