Very relaxing in a great...

Liked: From the moment we arrived we were treat with total kindness and helpfulness by the staff, particularly the young lady on the reception. She escorted us to our room and told us a little of the history of the house as we mad our way there. Our room was called Mallard, the decor was themed to the Gresley steam train, Mallard. There was even a scale train set running round the upper wall of the room. The bed was fantastically comfortable and the bathroom superb.
Disliked: Our room was up two flights of stairs. I have an arthritic knee and I made the room with little extra effort. However, had I known I would have tried for a room lower down......then again I liked Mallard so much, I'd prably book it again.

Exceptional

Liked: We had a wonderful, though too-short stay at Highfield. We felt looked after and spoiled. From stepping through the front door, the welcome was warm and friendly. The decor, warmth and fragrance were notable and pleasant too! The room was exceptional, with soft bedding and comfortable beds as well as snuggly pillows! I was delighted to have the chance to have a brew with proper milk and the treats were a nice touch. Breakfast was tasty and my poached eggs were spot on.What a treat we had! I can't recommend Highfield, highly enough.
Disliked: I wish we had been able to arrive earlier!

Stunningly beautiful hotel

Liked: Everything was wonderful. The house and grounds are stunning. The room was the nicest we have ever stayed in. The food and service was outstanding
Disliked: There was nothing we didn't like.

Affordable luxury

Liked: Location. Extremely clean. The staff go above and beyond. Very helpful and friendly. Lovely that the owners mingle with the guests too.
Disliked: Can’t fault the property or staff but guest did abuse the free communal goodies.

Disliked: Having to go downstairs to get milk for a brew
