Liked: Lovely room (twin) on ground floor for me and my dad. Good sized and plenty of light from the two undoes in the room and two windows in the en suite. We were contacted in advance due to there being a problem with the boiler and no hot water. We couldn’t move as there was no suitable room but the hotel generously reduced the rate by more than 30%.
Disliked: There was some noise outside early on both mornings. Staff arriving at work perhaps but doors were left to bang shut and someone had a full blown 10 minute conversation outside our window at around 6.45 am.

Lovely stay

Liked: Lovely location and views from my room which was an upgrade were amazing . Lots of options for breakfast and tea and cake served in the afternoon . An honesty bar for drinks and snacks available
Disliked: My only concern …a lot of stairs .

Exceptional

An excellent two-night stay.

Liked: I needed a place close to the nearby theatre. I was able to walk there - great! Room afforded a great view of Skiddaw (Englands fourth highest mountain). A hook on the back of the door - brilliant! So often there isn't one. Similarly, an electric socket near the bed head - great!Good choice of breakfasts.Free parking available.
Disliked: Space was limited. I have difficulty managing a fixed-height shower.
